Great source for teachers,

This review is from: The Pilgrims at Plymouth (Landmark Books) (Paperback)
I used this book as a focus for an activity I had to create for school. As an education major, I read a lot of childrens literature and I thought this was a good book to use when introducing the subject of the Pilgrims and the hardships they had to endure. The material in the book is detailed, yet not too difficult for young readers and because it adds additional information in the margins, it helps to give a better, more vivid image of what life must have really been like so long ago.

This review is from: The Pilgrims at Plymouth (Landmark Books) (Paperback)
Reads more like a reference book than an actual storybook but with wonderful, informative, and colorful text! The animated illustrations allow for even the youngest of readers to follow along, while the chronological text recounts the story of Thanksgiving in accurate detail for more advanced readers (second through fourth grade). Topics include the difference between Saints and Strangers aboard the Mayflower and their hardships, encounters with Native Americans, The Great Sickness, harvest time, and the first Thanksgiving. Nicely done and should be on the bookshelf of any child or family interested to learn about the history of Thanksgiving.
