After retiring from parish ministry and teaching homiletics, he represented the United Church of Canada on the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches, which involved much world travel.

Great pocket devotional,

This is a great quick read devotional book on the Christian holy sites in Israel. I purchased several travel books but this one became my favorite because although it does not offer extensive details, it gives a quick biblical/historical reference along with a devotional thought which helped my travels to stay focused as a spiritual pilgrimage. I read it before my visit to Israel, on the bus traveling from site to site, at night in my hotel room when I wrote in my journal and since returning home when I shared my experiences with others.
