As a teacher, I use colored pens all of the time, and now that I have found a smooth-writing, easy-to-erase product that comes in vibrant colors, I will never use other pens again. I will agree with others that these pens go through ink very quickly, but their effectiveness as a writing tool is worth it for me. I have also found that the finer tipped versions use less ink. And though refills are not available everywhere, you can buy them through Japanese import retailers. Pilot also makes a style of this pen with a barrel that feels more like a pencil and with an eraser on the cap; however, they are not refillable.

Pros:
-- Great color selection.
-- The pens write smoothly without skipping, especially once they're "warmed up."
-- The ink erases thoroughly (and I've never had problems with it tearing paper.
-- There are refills available.

Cons:
-- The ink is heat sensitive, so it is not recommended for important documents or those that will be exposed to extreme temperatures.
-- The ink runs out fairly quickly, but then again, it actually feels great to use up a pen refill (as opposed to all those partially used pens all over my house and classroom).
-- The pen has a design flaw in that the eraser is on the end of the pen. Since this is where the cap is stored when the pen is being used, the cap has to be removed to access the eraser.

These pens are great. I have always been a fan, and when I recently saw them online in a variety of colors, I had to get them. I bought three packs at once, and do not regret it. They erase wonderfully, and they write smooth. Just don't leave your notebook with all your math homework in the hot hot car, or it will all disappear (this can be fixed by putting the notebook in the freezer for a while, but if you're in a hurry that is not good)!!!

If you do a lot of work with pen, you'll frequently want to erase something.

In the past, erasing would partially destroy the paper underneath, even with pencil. Same with "erasable inks".

These are different. The ink is destroyed by heat, and the "eraser" actually just creates enough friction that ink is made to vanish without harming the paper underneath.

It's a wonderful effect. Jordini the magician first showed it to me -- for awhile, magicians paid a small fortune for these pens.

Well worth it. When I'm writing in one of my notebooks, if I had a choice between a Frixion pen, and platinum high-end pen, I'd take the Frixion, every time. I like being able to make corrections.

I saw this product demonstrated at a quilting and crafting expo. You can mark on fabric and iron out the mark after you've stitched. This is great for quilters and other creative folk, but there are some caveats. You MUST test the pen on the fabric before you quilt. In some cases, you can see a white line after ironing out the mark. Also, if you were to mark the quilt and iron out the marks, if you put the quilt , say, in a freezing cold car, the marks can come back. (Not cool, if you've spent months on an heirloom.) The ink does wash out very easily, though. For marking a seam or cutting line, though, this product is the best. Marks very easily. The range of colors in the multi-pack is very good.

Very cool design and the pen erases very well. Nothing like the older "erasable" pens. One issue I do have is the ink will disappear upon high heat. I unfortunately wrote the address on an envelope with the Frixion Pen and the letter came back with no address on it. You can somewhat see where it was, so either the heat or friction from machines at the post office erased the ink.

Bought these for my perfectionist, OCD son - they work GREAT! Much better than the erasable pens of my youth, these write smoothly and erase completely with little effort. Will definitely be buying again.

I use these pens to mark cotton fabric for lines to follow when machine quilting or other tasks. The nice thing is once the sewing is complete the marks can be ironed out and you never knew they were there. Great pens for sewing.

My hubby and I do crossword puzzles together and like to differentiate our words. Colored pencils just did not work for us. These pens are great and erase so easily. Other reviewers have said that the ink does not last long and I cannot comment on this as we have only been using them for about a month and we have not ran out of ink yet. I also love them to write on greeting cards. I am always making mistakes and now my mistakes can be erased with evidence.

I love these pens for their smoothness and erasability. My kids love them because they can hold their note over a lightbulb and the message they wrote disappears. They give the notes to friends and family members with the instructions to put the note in the freezer. The message reappears like magic. They have even written mystery thank you notes and they loved doing it. How cool is that?
Also, my daughter has dysgraphia ( fine motor problems that affect her handwriting) so, even though she is in Middle School she always used to write with a pencil so she could erase mistakes more easily. Now she can write with a pen so she feels more like the "other kids". I LOVE these pens!

These pens are great.

They write very smoothly and don't leave much (if any) eraser "residue" like other erasable pens.

They run out quite quickly but they erase very thoroughly (so long as you wait for the ink to dry before you try to erase it).

I think the design on the pens is quite cheesy, but other than that I adore them.
