Whether you are a writer or a sketch artist, this is a pen to add to your must-have list! I first encountered this pen when I was in high school. I was at my dad's office and picked it up to mark up my college application, and something odd happened. I couldn't put it down. He begrudgingly gave it to me to take home. And I went mad in my sketch book, thought up new story ideas just to have an excuse to write, recopied old lists...anything and everything for an excuse to use this pen. My dad and I took to giving each other boxes of these pens for christmas and birthday gifts, but then another odd thing happened...the pens were apparently discontinued. We both searched desperately at Staples and other office supply chains, but nothing. Every once in awhile, one or the other of us would run across a box and offer a few to each other. I considered writing a letter to Pilot, but I had no pens left and no inspiration left to write. Then Amazon came along and I rediscovered my old favorite pen! I bought two boxes, one for me and one for my dad (if he's lucky) and you should too. These pens are simply an incredible writing tool.

I love these pens. I discovered them in the mid-90s. The barrel feels good in my hand--slightly thicker than the average stick pen. The liquid ink flows effortlessly and smoothly (although it's not a good idea for most lefties, since it will smear for a few seconds.)

They changed the barrel of these pens for a few years and I went around hoarding the "old" style. I literally was down to my last pen when I discovered these are back. The cap is slightly different (more plastic) than the previous version, but the barrel, micro point and ink flow are the same.

Thank goodness! I tried writing with the ball points we have at work and it was so much more effort. I didn't know what I was going to do when that last pen died. Thank goodness I don't have to find out. :)

I use these pens all day every day as a college student. They write smoothly and take a very long time to run out of ink. My only gripe is that the clips on the caps break off too easily. More than half of my pens no longer have clips, which makes attaching them to my notebooks difficult. Perhaps this has something to do with the plastic being 81.6% recycled (which was a main bonus for me when I bought them). Overall, I'd recommend these pens, but warn you not to play with the clips unecessarily.

about these pens. It seems like this new batch is slightly different than the originals that I've been using all these years (20+ .. had to hoard them during lean times) .. maybe a little scratchier. Still, I was delighted to find them available again! Especially good on very smooth paper.

Overall these are fantastic pens. I am still using my first pen from the box, and have not experienced any issues with them.

These pens are sleek, long lasting, have perfect flow, and do not break. Well worth a buy for any writer, artist, or average Joe who likes to use quality pens.

Literally down to my last beloved pen (not even a black one, a red one) and I finally remembered to try to find them online...and here they are, THE BEST PEN ever! I have never found a pen that is such a pleasure to write and draw with, I have loved them for years. And then they started to disapear...why would they stop making the most brillant pen ever?! Darn you Pilot!

This is my favorite pen; I have been using the Pilot VBall for years and love it. I use it to do the New York Times crossword puzzle. The extra fine nib fits nicely into the tiny squares. The ink dries almost instantly which is great if you are left-handed or write above your line of text as I do... no more ink stained hands. The ink flows extremely well but is not water proof; not great for legal documents. I am slightly disappointed with the new plastic clip. The metal ones made the pen look classier. I have often received complements on the look of the pen and how nicely it write.

I like these pens because, you can see the amount of ink better than the precise, the design is simple, you can grip it regardless if you have sweaty palms, it flows smoothly, and the tip won't bend like the precise pens. I still remember loaning out my "Precise"pen to a classmate and he returned it with a bent tip. I wanted to cry. But anyway, this is the best pen in the world.

You must try this pen now! It's as smooth as the flow of a river.

I've tried many pens in a past, and none thus far compares to this pen. Even though it does not have a grip, I still feel that the pen sits very softly on my thumb and fingers.

I love using this pen to write cursive; it just seems to have a great flow as you move your wrist across the page.

Anyway, I've already used 3-4 of these pens, they work like a charm! Once you use the Pilot Vball BG 05, you never go back!
