5.0 out of 5 stars The start of a really good series?
My wife and I watched the free unbox Pilot last night and really liked it.
She was thinking that it was going to be too much like "Quantum Leap", it really wasn't. We both liked Kevin McKidd from the HBO series "Rome", he was very good in this new role. I was really surprised how the show dealt with his physically traveling in time.

*** POSSIBLE SPOILER...

*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***
In one scene he is driving in his car when he "pops" back in time, thus leaving his car still cruising down the street. Instead of just ignoring what we all know should happen, they show it, his car crashes and nobody is in it.
*** END SPOILER WARNING ***

This show really has potential, we sure hope it lasts for more than a few episodes.

Felt more like watching a movie rather than watching just an average television show. No commercials or long breaks is a plus ! I'd recommend this series and the download service to purchase it through.

Amazon has really outdone themselves by partnering with TiVo !

it's nice to be able to watch a show before it airs to know whether it will be worth watching. and this show proves it. it will definitely be a show worth watching this fall season.

Excellent show! Now if only NBC can be trusted. ABC and NBC have a long history of starting shows only to kill them mid-season or worse, leave a cliffhanger then cancel the show. This has to have been inspired by the novel "The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger. Especially his statement to his wife at the end of the episode.

4.0 out of 5 stars New Quantum Leap, October 24, 2007
This review is from: Journeyman (Amazon Instant Video)
I was very excited that Tivo had some of the new season pilots available before they aired. I downloaded several I was interested in and was able to weed out ahead of time the duds. This one is tough. I loved Quantum Leap when I was young and this is a more serious version. I am not sure if it will garner enough viewers to remain on the air. It is a great premise and shows promise, but I hate to invest in shows that the networks take off prematurely.

This is an intriguing show. Despite the complaints of similarity of other shows, I think this one has just the unique blend which makes it new. In other time traveling scenarios - the characters oftentimes can't change history - this guy can. Characters also usually can't bring items backward and forward in time with them. He can. Also, who among us hasn't wanted to change something in the past? But that might not be such a good idea....

This has lots of potential. Don't let all the naysayers turn you off to it.

This series started out as just an "Okay show" but progressed into something awesome. Too bad it didn't see a second season.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a fantastic, quality show that should have never been cancelled., December 27, 2008

I was interested in the series after I'd seen the pilot episode and realizing that Kevin McKidd was the same Kevin from Trainspotting and the excellent series on HBO, Rome. I just knew that Journeyman would be great. And it was. All the cast and supporting rolls were excellent. The writing was fresh and the storyline stayed true to what was happening. It's a story of a married newspaper reporter who unwittingly becomes a time traveler who somehow must figure out why he has been transported and then what he has to do to change the future by mostly saving someone's life or changing it in some way. This is what makes the show so redeeming and not like any other story of this kind. I watched the entire first season but the writer's strike soon took over and somehow, this quality show got caught in the fray and was cancelled after the first season. What a shame. This show should have never been cancelled. When I saw that Amazon had it, I purchased the whole first season and now I share it with all my family and friends. Everyone who sees it loves it. It was one of the few good quality shows on network television. Great series, I highly recommend it.
