I love this show but there is a MAJOR issue with the VOD episodes - the music has been changed! All the wonderful classic rock songs have been replaced with awful random songs that completely ruin the atmosphere of the show.
There is no warning that the music has been changed - I was completely unaware of the substitutions until I actually watched an episode. I think it is completely unethical of Amazon not to warn its customers that these episodes do not contain the same music as the broadcast and DVD versions. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE EPISODES ON VOD - do yourself a favor and go buy the REAL Season 1 (with awesome music) on DVD. Supernatural - The Complete First Season

I have to say I really love Supernatural. Horror, hot women, rock n roll and great suspense makes for a fun series. I also love the family theme they carry throughout the series. The family spats you eventually get into make for good comical moments and conflict. The makeup, sound, special effects and suspense in these hour shows sometimes make you want to turn on the lights late at night more than many horror movies do. I'm just now starting to catch up having watched Season 3 and 4 when I had nothing else to watch and decided to give the show a try. I've yet to be disappointed by any episode.
The reason for the 3 stars is directed at Amazon because some episodes are not available for Watch Now. I can't understand the licensing restrictions and how they are per episode instead of per season. Whether some exec or some Digital Rights Management group chose to demonstrate they have power over their content or some discussion between them and Amazon fell apart, I can't fathom why they punish the consumer.
Please Amazon, fix this stupid mistake. I will be less likely to buy seasons in the future if you cannot make content delivery consistent.

Of all the monsters Supernatural has had over its 5 seasons, The Women in White still remains one of the most memorable. Supernatural can be watched without having seen a single episode thanks to the flashback in the beginning and the monster of the week storyline, but everyone should at least watch the first episode. It sets up so much of the series, tells us how their mother died, why Sam is estranged from his father, and what the Winchesters do for a living. Fans of urban legends, folklore, and horror monsters would probably be the ones to like this series the most. Hope you'll give Supernatural a try
