It is a good spin off tied perfectly into Pretty Little Liars. It is more like a horror movie than Pretty Little Liars is. It will be interesting to see how everything plays out. They had a really good pilot episode and I hope they continue to be as good. I would highly recommend this show.

I'm surprised at the poor reception of this spinoff series in general, seeing that I myself have been more than delightfully surprised at the quality of Ravenswood so far. But then again, going up against a series (The Pretty Little Liars) that has had a tremendous success, it is perhaps not too surprising that its spinoff was greeted with much anticipation, not to mention high expectations, of which its audience has apparently found sadly unsatisfactory. But on the contrary, in my opinion, Ravenswood has successfully constructed a world of its own that does not attempt to reconstruct or imitate its predecessor, but succeeds in bringing together a strong cast of characters whose depth and humanity seem not only to rival that of The Pretty Little Liars, but also exceed them in some ways. The writers have done a superb job of setting a specific tone to the series which has connected me with the characters to a way that I did not feel in PLL. I guess one could see Ravenswood as the darker cousin to The PLL series. I can't wait to see what the writers have in store for the further development of this story.

I love how life and death is so intertwined in the episodic ghost story. And Nicole Gale Anderson is awesome.

This show is just creepy enough to make your skin crawl but not enough that I can't sleep at night.

This is not a show about teen fashions, instead it's a show about witchcraft and curses and ghosts. It's played seriously and is aimed at young adults , of course the cast members are all beautiful etc. But who cares? it's a good show! . It introduces horror to teens especially girls who really need this kind of stuff. Horror is good fun and this one does that without any gore, it's about atmosphere and it does that well, I do believe that girls miss out on sci fi and horror too often because they are not exposed to it. it's for everyone not just guys! AND. It's good to see Meg Foster is still at it. She's plays the spooky older lady. She's in fantastic shape though and those wonderful eyes of hers are still glowing!. this is a show that a family could watch and teens will enjoy , it's not 'pretty little liars' in any way. Which is a true teen show.

I did not like how the spin off from Pretty Little Liars came about. The split between Hannah and Caleb. Hannah allowing him to stay in Ravenswood to help Miranda find her relatives. Then he returns to Rosewood and let's her believe they are over in trying to protect her from the secrets in Ravenswood. Now Miranda is dead and her spirit is roaming the earth for the other four friends to see is a little silly. Pretty Little Liars has more drama and mystery. Maybe Ravenswood will pick up the pace in the next few episodes. It is a wait and see kind of thing. It is hard for spin off shows to build momentum.

This was an ill-conceived spin off of Pretty Little Liars and was not renewed after it's first season. First; as a fan of Pretty I enjoy the mystery element. Ravenswood was a horror show and that was not something I cared for. The whole season felt like a set up for the never to come 2nd season, you don't learn a lot of information about the curse and for something that could be so exciting it felt pretty slow moving. The characters were so flimsy that you really didn't end up caring about them at all. It wasn't a bad show, and maybe it would have been stronger in the 2nd season.
