I downloaded the Pilot for the simple reason that we had just gotten the TiVo all hooked up and registered and, at the time, the episode was free. Well, okay, it also helped that I wanted to say I'd seen it first, and I wanted to see how this whole downloadable TV thing worked.

I had seen previews for Chuck. The network had hyped it up so much, it was impossible to have missed it, but the previews did not impress me. I had no expectation of this show. I was thinking I would get halfway through the Pilot and then decide to watch something else.

The promos were wrong, wrong, wrong. They totally failed to highlight all of the wonderful things about this show -- about this episode! It was smart and funny, with good performances and writing and directing, but the thing that most blew me away was the lighting and color.

The DOP for Chuck deserves some serious recognition. The show looks simply incredible. It's so bright, it's so colorful, and everything is lit in such a way that it reads beautifully on the screen. I probably got lost in just oohing and ahhing at the technical accomplishment of making a show this bright look this good a bit too much. Normally, shows seem to tend more towards dark, it seems to be somewhat easier to make dark look good.

I wasn't too distracted by the shininess -- I still had enough presence of mind to admire the characters and story. Chuck is endearing, very human, and the cast of crazy characters around him only serve to underscore how much of a person Chuck is, a person like any of us. It's probably the show's strongest selling point (aside from the shiny). Chuck may be in a world far beyond ours, but we can picture ourselves in his place.

Plus, the show is funny, and I laughed. It's well worth watching every week.

Chuck is one of the shows that I am most looking forward to with the writers strike over. It is a great blend of comedy, nerdyness, action, and smoking hot women. Chuck is the head nerd at the Buy More, a Best Buyesque big box store. He has had a great deal of secret government information downloaded into his brain. He often flashes on people or things he sees, which crank up the action in the show. The cast is great and the balance between comedy and action is great. Chuck gets himself into all kinds of trouble and he often has to find creative ways to get himself back out. Check this show out Mondays on NBC and until it comes back catch up with episode on UNBOX.

I didn't expect to like this show but I do. I find it humorous that the store is named Buy More.

The romantic relationships are cute and predictable, just like they should be in a comedy.

The "spy stuff" is even comical.

I find it to be well written and an entertaining half hour.

I can't wait for the new episodes. It's extremely funny and action packed at the same time. I highly recommend this show :)

This is one of my favorite new shows this season. Hopefully it'll come back next year!

I loved this so much I watched it online and then again on TV a week later. I hope the bean-counters give this show a chance. I'm so tired of new shows that disappear after 2 or 3 episodes. I'm sure that's why alot of people don't even bother watching in the first place.

I took advantage of several "Free preview" downloads, of which "Chuck" was one. This was far and away my favorite of the bunch.

"Chuck" follows a likeable but insecure genius working far below his potential (booted from Stanford for reasons we have yet to learn, he now runs the [Geek Squad] at [Best Buy], or something like that). In the land of the socially inept, Chuck is the one-eyed king of his diminutive domain. On his birthday he receives a cryptic email from Bryce, his former Stanford roommate who stole his girlfriend and got him booted from school, which turns him overnight (literally) into the most sought-after mind in the country, in the form of assassins from the CIA and NSA.

Hilarity ensues. No, really, it does. The chemistry between Chuck, his sister, his best friend, and the government agents is played with a swift, light touch that I thoroughly enjoyed. Chuck's newfound gift throws his life into upheaval in some ways, but doesn't drastically alter his personality. He may be targeted for termination, but he's more worried about applying for assistant manager, and getting over his last girlfriend.

Would that the lives of all Nerd Herders were so complex.

I'd compare the tone to USA's Psych, another personal favorite. Star Trek Voyager's Robert Duncan McNeill ("Tom Paris") has done good work as producer and director, and I look forward to seeing how this series develops.

EVER SINCE NBC TIED PROMOS OF CHUCK IN WITH HEROES, SAVE THE GEEK SAVE THE WORLD, I WANTED TO SEE WHAT THIS SHOW WAS LIKE. ITS REALLY, REALLY GOOD! I LIKE THE STORY LINE, REAL GUY THROWN IN OVER HIS HEAD. THE ACTING, DIRECTION AND PLOT ARE ALL TOP NOTCH. IT BLENDS HUMOR AND ACTION REAL WELL! NBC COULD HAVE A REAL HIT ON THEIR HANDS! I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE CHUCK!

Great show! Wonderful characters! Lots of crazy comedy! If you watch the series, you will fall in love with the characters and all of the crazy things they do! Not a show on TV like it. Every season is better than the season before! I didn't watch my first "Chuck" episode until it had been on for 3 years. I can't believe I missed such a great show!

I somehow missed this show until Dec 2010. It must have had bad ads because I never even considered watching. I grabbed the free pilot to watch on a trip and was hooked. This quickly became my favorite TV show ever. Great combination of comedy, action, and romance. I bought the first 3 seasons on Amazon's Video on Demand which was much cheaper than DVDs....and a few marathon's later I'm caught up and watching the current 4th season.

I can't really explain why its so great, its just somehow magical. And this is from someone who has always refused to be a fanbois for anything!
