Funny nerds, straight-up blonde, 3's Company?,
This review is from: The Big Bang Theory: The Complete First Season (Amazon Instant Video)
I loved this show. It does remind me of Three's Company with the humor, girl and guys, in fact, I think they borrowed the studio audience from that show! The laughter does sound a little canned, but hey, the content made me smile. Great to see the guy that played boyfriend David on the Roseanne show. Very expressive and believable actor. I don't know his name, and the show didn't include actor/actress names. I wonder why there were NO credits played at the beginning or end, to give credit to the actors and actresses. Witty writing. I will watch every episode.

I really hope this one makes it. I laughed out loud at least a dozen times, and so did my wife, my laptop, and my Gameboy. That would be 48 laughs total. The line "I have to say, it's really an honor to watch you work" was perfectly timed, hilarious, and totally geeky. The writing was clever, and the idea of a Stephen Hawking tape connoisseur, imaginative.

Before this year, I would have said "who cares about a writer's strike, in fact, anything that gets Desperate Housewives off the air is a good thing. Unfortunately for me, the writer's strike took this show off the air, and it is a great loss. Writing is hysterical as are the characters in the show. I don't know how long the writer's can keep writing such crisp dialogue, but until it jumps the shark, this show is incredible.

Being a mechanical engineering major myself and already having taken the requisite physics classes, it is a sheer delight to watch a show that can tell jokes which mock the number of dimensions required in String Theory or the absurd inaccuracies portrayed in sci-fi movies (Superman decelerating Lois Lane in a matter of a few feet from over 100 mph. Although Sheldon was wrong about the number of pieces she would be cut into...). I was hooked from the beginning when Sheldon called Penny's messy apartment a "swirling vortex of entropy." I just wish I could petition the show to use my quantum diffraction joke, it's a riot.A word to those who claim the show misuses scientific jargon. I've found that the uses of technical jargon are, for the most part, correct and they should be; the technical consultant for the show is UCLA physicist David Saltzberg.

OK, so it helps if you know some brainiac things, but the show is damn funny, quick , and witty. I've seen reviewers complaining about the Laugh Track, or how the actors are dressed, etc. First off I don't why the laugh track is annoying to people - it's a comedy show, does it make it better somehow if you hear real people laughing ???? I think not. Second, the actors dress stereotypical because it's a show about geeks - OK, so they're not how typical "Geeks" dress ( I should know, I've been one for over 25 years ); but does this offend me ??? NO !!! Third, as far as people saying this isn't funny - Well, in my opinion they're either clueless or their dull and boring and probally don't laugh at anything, or the "laughing" part of their brain has been damaged by too many poor relationships that just didn't "work out". But seriously, I'd really like to know what those people consider "funny".

it's nice to see a network like cbs take a chance by releasing a pilot of a show online to see how people like it. i have to say that this show is going to be a good one. can't wait to watch the premiere again this week.

A bit awkward, pretentious (in a good way :) and totally funny. I am not sure about the girl but the chemistry between two main characters was great. Jokes were right on and timing was perfect. I hope this one makes it to the finish line.

The show is hilarious. Psych and communications tests show that maybe 10% of the population, more male than not, tending to go into science, math, and engineering, mostly "does not get" the normal social interations of everyone else, and doesn't feel the emotional bonds the same way the other 90% do. They live more in their heads than emotionally, and therefore learn social interations and how to communicate by watching and studying. This show is right out of my life and touches home, in response to the reviews by people saying folks like this just don't exist. I see myself, friends, and co-workers in these characters, only the actors do it better. They manage to make these otherwise disaffected, difficult to get along with people real, lovable, and understandable, and above all, laughs with them, not at them. That is a high art.
