4.0 out of 5 stars Great show until..............................
First two seasons rate 5 stars/ After episode 15 in season three I give it 1 star at best.

This was a great show until John Rhys-Davies left. It was a good science fiction series with very interesting plots. The sliders were an engaging team. The characters had caring and likable personalities. The personality of the new member Kari Wuhrer is one of the most...

3.0 out of 5 stars Five Stars For Seasons 1 & 2 Then downhill after cast change in #3
I totally agree with the other comment regarding this show. It was like-able and fun until they got rid of Davies and brought in Kari Whurer. They probably thought she was some sort of strong sexy vixen type that would boost ratings but she is really not a very good actor and detracted from the team dynamics previously displayed. It was truly a shame. The story changed...

First two seasons rate 5 stars/ After episode 15 in season three I give it 1 star at best.

This was a great show until John Rhys-Davies left. It was a good science fiction series with very interesting plots. The sliders were an engaging team. The characters had caring and likable personalities. The personality of the new member Kari Wuhrer is one of the most unlikable characters one can imagine and the plots degenerated into dull military/horror themes that have no intellectual value whatsoever.

I recommend watching the first two seasons and season three up to episode 15, episode 20 is a flash-back to when John Rhys-Davies was part of the cast and is also worth watching. After that the shows degenerates rapidly.

This show had great potential. I only saw the pilot, so it was early in the development of the series. I loved the idea and the pilot was interesting, but it seemed underdeveloped in terms of production quality. That could also be due to when it was produced, some time ago.

3.0 out of 5 stars Five Stars For Seasons 1 & 2 Then downhill after cast change in #3, December 29, 2010
This review is from: Sliders Season 1 (Amazon Instant Video)
I totally agree with the other comment regarding this show. It was like-able and fun until they got rid of Davies and brought in Kari Whurer. They probably thought she was some sort of strong sexy vixen type that would boost ratings but she is really not a very good actor and detracted from the team dynamics previously displayed. It was truly a shame. The story changed from being about the group to much too much focus on Whurers carachter. As an actor she is already over displayed in too many "B" flicks of low quality. Her addition spelled the eventual demise of the series. Davies was critical to the storyline as he offset the brash actions of the hero. The friction between Whurer & "Wade" was not believable and was a distraction from enjoying the show. It was even boring and tiring to watch being too predictable and even silly at times. Nobody enjoyed the cast change. Davies was an integral part of the cast & the show and his deletion was unwarranted. Whurer is no Amanda Tapping and just didn't fit a role that should have never been introduced in the first place. At best she should have been limited to the part of a transient villian and quickly done away with. One could easily argue Whurer actually ruined the show itself. One has to wonder what studio executives are thinking when they make such decisions? Too often they ruin good or even great shows or cancel them before they have a chance to develop (such as The Dresden Files) or revamp and hence wreck a show like Sliders making unneeded changes. It clearly illustrates they don't really understand what they are really doing!
