This book comes from a very seasoned practioner who has guided many, many for profit and nonprofit organizations through the strategic planning process. The book outlines a very practical process for how to get your strategy from "theory" to "practice". I have been through this process many times and even the best strategic plans fail when it comes to execution. There are so many helpful stategies in the book that will help you to "pilot" your strategy successfully; the "RACI" model alone is worth the price of the book. A lot of time, money and effort goes into creating good strategy; not to mention the raised expectations that something is actually going to happen. This book will take all of that effort and actually make it worthwhile.
This is a wonderful book for any leader (Business or HR) to use as a guideline to use after the strategy is set and it's time to execute. The book is concise, great anecdotes and can be read in a couple of hours. Excellent book to refer back to quite often during strategy execution.
