5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Tracks from UGK, August 16, 2011
By
Metelvis (Houston, Texas USA) - See all my reviews
If you are looking for great NEW material from UGK you will not find it here or anywhere for that matter (RIP PIMP C). If you want a really good collection of rare early material then check this out. Not counting the bonus tracks all of these songs were all released by UGK's first record label BIGTYME RECORDZ. "Like Yesterday" is probably the strongest track released on PSK-13's "Born Bad" CD but produced by PIMP C, complete with slow guitar riffs and a haunting chorus line by Bun B with great verses by PImp C and PSK-13. UGK's album "Banned" (now unavailable) is included here minus a few instrumentals. If you are a true dirty south fan then you'll appreciate the DJ Screw remixes, most were made popular on his debut release "All Screwed Up". Finally the bonus tracks are worth every penny, "What Up My Boy" is another classic Pimp C production, "Satisfied" has a nice Pimp C hook and "7 Executioners" has a very rare Bun B verse. UGK was like no other and these tracks are proof just how strong they were way before Jay-Z help make them a household name.
