If you're looking at Spanish III from Pimsleur you should have some basic Spanish conversational skills either from completing Spanish I & II or from other life experience. Here's what to expect: Pimsleur Spanish III begins with you, the listener, at a dinner party. You'll hear a conversation with many speakers and you'll follow along. The discussions get more involved as you go through the course.

I've used the CD courses and the chip versions. While CDs are nice to slide into your car stereo I found that they weren't worth the extra money or headache of losing and scratching them compared to the audiobook chip. One SD card (or audiobook chip as Audiofy calls them) contains all 16 hours of the course. The company also has a free download of software that let me zip to my iPod in about ten minutes. That's a lot faster than ripping 16 CDs in case you haven't tried it. So I can keep my audiobook chip at home and take my iPod with me and study anywhere I want.

I find the little audiobook chips to be a lot of bang for the buck and I also recommend Pimsleur absolutely over the Software products out there (Rosetta, etc.) It really worked for me.

These chips are tiny and can easily be lost. I lost the chips and customer support's attitude is "that's too bad." If I had bought the same lessons on cd then Simon and Schuster would have replaced them but audiofy will not replace the chip. I brought the language chips through the airport and never saw them again. These chips are too expensive to throw away.
