If you want to learn the basics of Pinterest and how to use it to increase traffic to your website and positively publicize the goods and services you offer there, this is the book for you. In Chapter 1 you'll learn what Pinterest is (and isn't), who can use it and why they are doing so, and how it differs from other bookmarking sites like Delicious or Digg. Also in this chapter is a fairly in-depth look at Pinterest's terms of service and rules around fair use, copyright infringement and objectionable content.

Chapter 2 will get you pinning with the best of them as you learn how to pin, re-pin, create and manage boards and link up Pinterest with your Twitter and Facebook accounts. The authors offer tips on who you should follow (and why) as well as explaining the types of interactions that happen within Pinterest and what to do if you think a pin in some way violates Pinterest's Terms of Service. There are also tips for how Pinterest interactions differ from those on other social media sites and what constitutes good etiquette.

Chapter 3 is where you get to the really exciting stuff. You'll learn how to extend the reach of Pinterest beyond the boards you've created. My wife's been into Pinterest since forever, but I always just dismissed it for some reason (gender bias, probably)... well, I was wrong. It's more than a "pretty collection of stuff".
