Me and a friend were at the music store, he had a CD in mind, I didn't. I caught Dislocated Styles on the "New CD" rack and flipped it over. I saw the Roadrunner label logo, which surprised me, cause the name Dislocated Styles, and Pin The Tail on the Honkey didn't seem like anything inside was rock. But I thought it could be and trusted Roadrunner from other bands like Slipknot, Dry Kill Logic, Spineshank, Soulfly and Coal Chamber.

I never heard a song from this CD until I bought it. It surprised me. It had a corny sound, but something new, and I dove into the sleeve and read along the lyrics as the songs played. There writing is very good and has something deep to it, although the way they play it doesn't.

Like some of the band members say on there site. They get fans that they would have never thought they would have, that listen to completely different styles of music. This is true, if I had heard that they were completely rap/rock or funk before I bought it. I probably wouldn't have. If your looking for something new and want something to kickback to, then this CD is a great buy.

Dislocated Styles has one of the freshest sounds to come out in years. The band brings together musicians with backgrounds in blues, hip hop, funk, classic rock and others to create its own sound. The new album, Pin the Tail on the Honkey, brings Dislocated Styles unbridled live energy, unique sense of humor, and variety in musicianship to stand out. The first single Liquefied is sure to rip up the charts, and Unified lays down some great rhymes to get gangsters everywhere chanting this anthem. Dislocated Styles is definitely on their way to the top.

That is about all I can say about the album. They still have some tight grooves.

Amazing!!! Love this CD - I can't take it out of my stereo - Cant wait to hear more from them - Hope they make it to the East Coast - I'd love to see them live!!

Alright, take a deep breath. And listen.

Yes, they're cool.
Yes, they have style.
Yes, they have talent.
But the distcance between that and calling them "the best" and "fresh" is F-A-R!

I like them, they're a talented bunch. But I don't see anything original about them. They've got the tools, got the rhymes and got the look - but what are they contributing? What's "fresh" about them?..

Nothing.

Buy this if you like pattern, if you like the usual in Rap-Core, Funk-Metal and the likes.

Don't but this if you're looking for an original work of art.

This was a friends old boyfriend so I wrote them a good review... truth is I never listened after the first single, and apparently have not blown up in the last 6 years. If I could change the star count to 2, I would. Updated 2006 Peace..
