I've read Western romances before but this one held an unexpected surprise with a more modern-minded woman and a more sensual-minded man. Put the two together in an arranged setting and the sparks fly. Here's what I like the most: The woman was not a virgin (as is the case in most that I've read) and she willingly agreed to enter into a contract to take care of a man's needs and actually goes through with it with hardly any trepidation. How often do you see that in a Western? Never. At least I never have. The combination was exciting and fresh, and I loved the chemistry between the couple. I could NOT stop reading this story.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This Western historical is pure fun from start to finish. A lonely, innocent 'widder' woman and a rough, tough rancher who knows what he wants in a woman - good cooking, a clean house and sex every night! Simple, right?

Well, of course not. That's where the fun begins, as the widow woman is schooled in erotic affections and the rancher learns that love may be more important than bodily comforts. I did wonder how the heroine managed to get quite so much done in a day.

Gem Sivad spins the story in a unique style, giving us characters we can truly like as well as admire.

What a cute little quickie!

PINCH OF NAUGHTY was! I must have missed it in the blurb, but I wasn't expecting a Historical Western Romance, but that is exactly what I got and I really enjoyed it.

Eleanor Lacey got shafted in the love department. So, when she is forced to flee her hometown in the wake of a scandal, she decides that hooking up with Cyrus Burke, the richest man in the state of Texas, is a good idea. Although she comes from a reputable family, she has taken a position as the maid, cook and bed partner to the man of the house. Cyrus is everything you would expect - he's gruff, suspicious and demanding and he's not looking for a wife because they are good for nothing that he doesn't already have access to in his life. Eleanor isn't like any of the other housekeepers he has employed in the past and this little fact has Cyrus more and more intrigued every day. She is sassy and spunky and has no time for love, so they are on the same page in that department. So, watching the love-resistant pair fall for each other was incredibly entertaining.

If you are looking for a quickie that burns up the sheets, then, PINCH OF NAUGHTY might be the novella for you!

Gem Sivad is one of the queens of "naughty" historicals :) The banter between Cyrus and Eleanor in this book is so much fun, and the heat they produce is scorching. Eleanor is such a spitfire, and poor Cyrus is clueless when it comes to Eleanor's feelings. I cracked up at the going away gift Eleanor left for him (you'll have to read the book to find out what it is!), and couldn't wait to find out how they would find their way back to each other. I loved that Eleanor aspired to open a bakery (one of my favorite occupations in the books I read), and hope that Eleanor's sisters get their own books as they move to Texas to open up her tea shop.

I get Gem Sivad's newsletter and when I saw yesterday that she had a new book out, I snatched it up immediately. I devoured it in no time and now I have to wait for the next one :( This is how it is with this author, who is one of my favorite auto-buys. Gem did not disappoint, this book was great and I laughed out loud so many times. Cyrus is arrogant, sly and sexy as hell, and Ellie is a perfect match to shake up his ranch. He thinks all he needs is a housekeeper with fringe benefits, which he gets in spades, and HOLY COW!!!!! is their chemistry off the charts hot! But he didn't plan on wanting to keep her so desperately, I love how the mighty fall when they find their woman. I enjoyed this feel good, sexy hot story so much, can't wait for another book Gem!!!!

I really enjoy the writing of Gem Sivad and this book is no exception to the norm. The author always writes a wonderful satisfying erotic western romance. I admit she is an autobuy for me.

Eleanor Lacey, is one strong, fiesty, determined woman. She has been widowed after a loveless marriage and is determined to be independant and no longer allow any man to tell her how to live. Eleanor is determined to open a dessert shop, but to accomplish her goal, she desperately needs a job to fund her venture. She takes on the position of housekeeper to Cyrus Burke.
Cyrus has his own ideas as to what duties housekeeping for him should incorporate. He wants Eleanor to be available 24/7. Day and Night duty. Eleanor is desperate so they begin to "negotiate" all of Eleanor's duties.

I loved the character of Cyrus, he was gruff and taciturn but with a good sense of humour. He meets his match in Eleanor.
This book had a playful feel, the banter, repartee and "negotiation" between Eleanor and Cyrus was priceless as they each struggled to gain the upper hand.

This is a feel good historical, erotic romance, almost playful in tone. I don't think that any reader would be disappointed.

This was an interesting book and I enjoyed reading it. I don't know if it was something like that could really happen in that time frame but, it was pretty steamy.
