I was delighted with this purchase. I helped a child make this item, and we really had fun. It was easy to make, the instructions were easy to understand, and we have had a nesting pair of birds use it already.

This is very easy for young children to build with the assistance of an adult. The holes are predrilled so only a hammer is required.

I purchased this as a birthday present for my 5 yr. old granddaughter. It came exactly as represented. My husband helped her put it together. He said with a little help she was able to put it together. The only drawback was the nails were rather short. He was afraid it wouldn't hold up for a very long time, so... he also added some longer screws to it to make it a little more longlasting. Even with this shortcoming I would definitely buy it again.

We bought these kits for the Cub Scouts that I lead as a Den Leader. They are very easy to assemble and they look nice when completed. Very little sanding is required if you choose to paint.

However, there were a few things I noticed that could use some improvement. First, the pre-punched nail holes were rarely lined up properly. We had to make adjustments for that, which was fine in our situation, but some people might not like that. Another problem was that the pieces weren't measured well. We had to make adjustments for that too. Finally, the picture on the front of the box is not a photo of the birdhouse once it has been properly assembled. The person building the house should pay attention to the photo in the instructions instead, or else it won't turn out right.

My two boys (ages 6 and 4) loved this (well they made the bird house and a bird feeder). The 4 year old really loves to build and does well with details; this was right up his alley. Both needed mom's help, it was intended to be that sort of project. Product is nice, easy to assemble, and a fantastic value. I would purchase again.

bought this for my grandson age 7, for Christmas. He and his dad put it together one rainy afternoon and his sister helped him paint it. They all had a great time.
