5.0 out of 5 stars night light
I absolutely love this address panel. Very easy to install, & once it gets the required amount of sunlight, it stays lit most of the night. Lots of extra numbers, fit right into mulch, & can be wall-mounted. Fits in with any decor. All the neighbors were oohing & aahhing!! It's great for a situation where the address is not always visible, it's lit up & elegant. I...

3.0 out of 5 stars IT'S PLASTIC FOR SURE
This product would probably be more fairly priced at about $10.00. It looks like the cheap plastic that it is made from. I had to use adhesive to hold the the number frames on to the housing. THE INSTRUCTIONS ADVISE THAT ALTHOUGH THE LIGHT IS WATERPROOF IT SHOULD BE BROUGHT INSIDE IN SEVERE WEATHER! The lights work but they are not really bright enough to suit me and they...

Van is really large, partially blocks address, this fits the bill.

TWO SIGNS WERE PURCHASED BUT AFTER ONLY TWO WEEKS OF USE, ONE OF THEM QUIT ILLUMINATING. WE CONTACTED THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER BUT THEY WILL NOT RETURN OUR CALL.
THE APPEARANCE OF THE SIGN IS GOOD AND THE FUNCTIONALITY IS ADEQUATE WHEN IT WORKS.

This product looks great, but was a great disappointment.

The solar light just refused to turn off at night, despite of placing it in full sun for more than 10 hours.

I figured it might be the photo cell that is preventing it from turning on and moved to the darkest spot in my landscape, no dice. I even checked it by completely blocking the photo cell with my finger. Still it would not turn on.

Worked great. Hung it on the front of the house and it was large enough to see from the street.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice for the Price, September 4, 2011

Open the box and put it together and you'll realize why you didn't pay more than $30 for it - it's on the "cheap" side, however, once put together and in place in the yard no one knows the difference. Every evening for the last 3 months it lights up and the numbers stay in place. I'm very happy with it and anticipate a couple years good years out of it.

I bought this product and not really happy. The parts don't stay snapped on very well. And, the light doesn't come on until it is absolutely dark. If there is the slightest light around it, such as a porch light or street light, or even the little solar garden lights, it doesn't work very well. The battery only lasts about four or five hours, therefore, it is not on all night. I don't know what will happen when daylight savings time ends and it starts getting dark around 6:00 p.m. I suppose the battery will run down by 10 or 11 p.m.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lousy quality, but it's the only game in town, August 4, 2011

This review is from: Pine Top 508-0011 Solar Address Number Night Light, Plastic, Black (Tools & Home Improvement)
Holy cow - the numbers don't even all fit right. And the LEDs don't evenly distribute the light. It took me quite a while to basically custom rebuild the thing so the numbers stay on and it looks halfway decent. I feel sorry for anyone that buys it that is not quite handy. I really do not think it will hold up well over time. It's a respectable design but the execution is poor.

Still, it is the only one of its kind available. I finished assembly and put it up in my front yard and it seems to be working out okay.

2.0 out of 5 stars Blends in with the shrubbery, July 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pine Top 508-0011 Solar Address Number Night Light, Plastic, Black (Tools & Home Improvement)
This Pine Top solar number sign measures 13-1/8" long, 6-1/2" to 8" high, and 3-1/8" thick. It is made mostly of plastic. It sits on top of two 6-inch posts, which end in two 5-inch spikes. Its low profile allows it to blend in with the shrubbery perfectly. Two solar panels on top charges three Ni-Cd batteries which power three LED lights between two translucent panels. The numbers and letters (E, W, N, & S) are 3-5/8 inch high and 1-5/8 inch to 1-7/8 inch wide with tiny pegs at the back. They snap into peg holes in a rectangular bracket secured with screws on each of the two translucent panels. You can put up to six characters each on one or both sides of the sign. A second snapped-on bracket holds the plastic numbers/letters in place on each side. There are 4 sets of numbers and 2 sets of letters (E, W, N, & S) in the box.

My number sign sits in the shade. It is exposed to direct sunlight only for 2 or 3 hours a day to charge the batteries. There is enough charge to power the lights from dusk to mid-night. The light is dim and uneven. It is hard to see the numbers/letters from the street in the dark. In my opinion, the solar light is just ornamental. For those who desire high visibility in the dark, a sign with large light reflecting numbers and a wired spot light trained on it is the way to go. Overall, this Pine Top solar number sign is both ornamental and practical as a day sign. It has weathered a couple of monsoon storms with no sign of leakage or electrical problem. I am happy with it.

Updated: After two months outdoor, the solar light went out. I replaced the NiCad batteries but they quickly went out too. The charger is no longer charging. I am downgrading this solar sign from 4-star to 2. I do not recommend it to Amazon shoppers.
