Again Karin Hellaby taken away for burdensome, old fashioned way of making pineapple quilts. Her new 21st century ideas are fun and really get the creative juices going. Look forward to adding more of her quilting books to my collection so I can do modern day piecing.

The tutorial is listed on YouTube for this process but it only gives the basic layout. I am a little disappointed in the book as it shows different layouts but doesn't go into detail with the fabric needs. For instance, the pattern on the front of the book shows yellow, pink, green, and blue. The book gives you fabric requirements for the specific color but they do not explain that there are three different shades to each of the colors and it does not break it down. As the pieces gradually fade into the middle they get smaller so the breakdown would be needed. The book is simplistic in explanation and would leave the beginning quilter confused. I am still working on my quilt but I am loving the outcome. All in all it's a great process and once you learn the steps it makes a beautiful pattern.

Nice book, I wouldn't pay to much for it. Writer does give good directions. I buy all her books, I do feel they are over priced, if you can buy used I would recommend it.

Simple, easy technique shown well with pictures and different colorways.
This author is very creative with her techniques. It makes it very easy to have a good experience with a somewhat difficult block/quilt.

Short, sweet and to the point, with precise wording and good photographs. Makes a complicated, tedious pattern a bit less so.
