fantastic clubs. My friends and I golf every weekend. As the cheap skate of the foursome I chose to go with copies when it came time to purchase a new set. Taylor Made Rocketballz are the clubs these mimic, and they do that extremely well. When I told a friend I got this entire set for the cost of his driver he asked to try them out. At the end of the day he agreed that there is little or no difference between the two sets.

For those of you who live and die by user reviews like me, heres an honest, detailed opinion-

I'm learning the game, but by no means are new to it. I was looking for a complete set that looks nice, had a quality build, and is easy on my wallet to replace my set of adams rpms which were quality improvement clubs. I'm very hesitant about brand selection and I never thought I would buy a complete set from a not well known company- I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for." But after researching the company and the pedigree of these clubs, I bit the bullet....hey, it was 200$ for these and the matching wedges and putter.

These pinewood irons are light compared to my adams RPMs, but feel just as solid and quality built. First shot I hit was dead center. I love the action of the irons, however ball impact feels a little "dead" or "sluggish". I checked where I was striking the ball on the face with some tape and most of the time i was making good, center contact. However the "feel" i was looking for just wasn't there, BUT, ball flight and forgiveness was excellent so it may just be a feeling I need to get used to.

The driver felt just the same. Great smooth swing action, but again felt dead on impact. Now the only thing I have to compare it to is a high end $130 Adams toungston driver that feels incredible on impact. I feel the quality per money spent may be showing through here in this comparison, but I was hoping a little bit more forgiveness and a little bit more height and distance with this set, or at least in the driver. The 3wood and 4 hybrid however did not show any of these signs and hit like champs.

Overall, I'm not impressed or disappointed.

I bought this golf set for the price because i'm a beginner learning golf. I bought it in June 2013. I have since played some 18-holes and 9-holes, hit the driving range, chipping, and putting. Here are my thoughts after playing for 3 months with this set:

Driver: This driver lacks the feel. It's made of graphite, light, but even as a beginner, i still feel that i don't get enough distance out of it. When i hit the 3-wood (maybe even the 4-hybrid), it feels like i get more distance out of it than this driver. Something is wrong with it. You can get this set but would need to get a new driver if you want to improve your game.

3-Wood: This club is decent. As a beginner, i can get about 150-175 yards out of it. I hit consistently with this club and I often use this one to tee off instead of the driver because I get more feel and more consistency out of it. I will keep this for awhile as I am working on my consistency. I may want to get a new one after my game improves.

4-Hybrid: Aside from the 3-wood, I love this club. When teeing off, I sometimes use this club instead of the 3-wood because of the distance. The 4-hybrid gives me the same feel and consistency. If I am on the fairway and still far away from the hole, I sometimes use this hybrid to hit it off the fairway and gives good distance. But sometimes I use the 5 iron instead depending on the situation. This is a keeper.

5-6 Irons: I will keep the irons forever. When teeing off on a par 3, I may use the 5 or 6 iron. These are also good on the fairway depending on the distance to the hole.

I did a bunch of research before purchasing these, lots of good reviews on multiple sites. Pinemeadow is basically a company that develops high quality clubs at a reasonable price, they don't spend money on advertising and such, but put the investment into research and design. I used them a couple times at the range and was rather pleased on how they were hitting, today I used them on the course and realize I would like to complete the PGX set by purchasing the wedges and putter. The grips on the clubs are great(which was a main concern of mine because nobody said anything about them). The shaft with normal flex is jus right, the irons are forgiving and the 3 wood really crushes the ball! People who were saying the driver and 3 wood were junk, obviously are new to the game of golf because these clubs are great! Purchase these clubs if you want a new set for and amazing price compared to other brands.

Went to the driving range today-in fact im still here, so mad that I'm writing this on my phone- and kid you not, fifth swing with the driver broke the head off the shaft and it went flying onto the range. I
should have left it there but instead I asked five other people on the range to pause their swings so I could retrieve it. How embarassing!! I'd love a replacement for this...Pinemeadow? Amazon?

If this had not happened I probably would have rated these 4-5 stars, heavily based on the fact that the LOOK of good quality and the color combination is on point. I'll gladly update my review should I receive a replacement driver that does not snap the first day of use.
