First Graders Really Enjoyed This,
By Sara K (Los Angeles, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pink Me Up (Hardcover)
I just read "Pink Me Up" to a class of first graders as part of our school's promotion of book fair week. I didn't select the book and I was a little doubtful about it, since I'm not a fan of the "girly" books like "Fancy Nancy" and "Pinkalicious." The entire class loved it, though, including the boys. And I found that I enjoyed it as well.
The bunny heroine is charming and very child-like, and the first-graders sympathized with her disappointment when her mother is too sick to attend the mother-daughter "pink-nic" party. They loved when she threw herself down on the floor in despair and her carrot-doll did the same. And they liked her solution to her problem as well...this is not a bunny who stays on the floor for long. The artwork is delightful and the message of the book is not "pink is for girls" at all. So count me as a convert to pink, because I love this book!

By far the best children's book I've downloaded. Either I just haven't found a whole lot of good children's Kindle books yet or they're just not out there yet. Either way this book - the illustrations and story are the best I've found to read to my 3 yr old daughter, yet. Absolutely worth the extra money.

For the pink-loving girl!,
By Jennifer R. (Indianapolis, IN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pink Me Up (Hardcover)
My daughter absolutely LOVES the color pink so she loved this book. I would have given it five stars except for one part...when she tells her dad that boys don't wear pink. He wears it anyway and everyone loves it but that one line started my daughter saying that pink isn't for boys. We've been working on that ever since because she has more than one boy friend who loves pink.
