The idea behind this toy is great. My girls love the microphone and the sound effects. However, we returned ours due to the stand. It's supposed to be adjustable, but it just slides down. It also cuts in and out and you have to press one of the sound buttons to reactivate the microphone. I thought it was short circuiting, but there is a warning about this. Amazon was great about the return and I went with the Memorex Sing Stand so my girls can plug their ipods in and karaoke to real music.

I purchased the pink and red mic. My son and daughter love to sing and dance so these were the perfect Christmas gifts. They are durable and lots of funs. The sound effects are great.

I really like this microphone. I bought it for my 3 year old daughter and she loves it. It is very durable and it takes a lot of abuse. The only complaint that I have is with the pink tube that extends on the stand. It will NOT stay up. It is constantly sliding down. In order to keep it up my husband wrapped small rubber washers around both of the extension poles. that works very well and only cost @ 50 cents to remedy. Still, I think the company could do a little improving on the pole.

I bought this as a present for my daughter's 4th birthday. The microphone stopped working in less than a week. We returned it for another one, which lasted less than two weeks before the same problem developed. We just returned this second one and will not be getting another.

got this microphone for my daughter for christmas 2009 and she loved it... only for about 30 minutes cause that is how long it lasted. Amazon did refund it quickly .

I bought one for my 3yr old and one for my 2yr old to replace the broken Fisher Price version .
They both love it! It has more features than the more expensive brands and has held up very good .
My girls drag it around the house and it still works perfectly .

I would give it 5 stars across the board for the price, but it has one design flaw .
The flaw is that in order for the mic to stay up in the highest position you will need a couple of rubber O-rings to place around the top stand post .( rubber bands will work in a pinch)
the mic will adjust to a height thats fine for any toddler but if you try to make it full height it will not stay up . My girls are 3ft 6 and 3ft , it works fine for them without any help.
Other than that issue the product is close to perfect for that price . The flashing lights and sound effects are a nice touch . The volume is perfect, at its highest setting it will not hurt their ears but sounds good .

My daughter got this as gift for her 4th b-day and she loved it! However, one week later, the none of the buttons on the microphone work, so there is no music to sing to, there is only the clapping buttons on the base that still work. So, she basically used it a handful of times and now it is junk.

Of course the directions are so vague and there is no troubleshooting section, no website, and the only phone number is in England!!!!!! I wish I would have saved the box and the amazon receipt because I would have definitely sent it back!!!!!

My seven year old granddaughter asked for a stand up microphone for her birthday.
We did some looking over the internet, and since we buy quite a lot from Amazon, we decided on this product. It isn't very loud, unless you stick it up to your mouth and still, you have to almost yell to hear it over the prerecorded music it has installed in it. It has buttons on the sides of it for different functions and you really have to be careful not to step too hard, as it will break. She has had this for almost a month, and it is in her closet, as she lost interest in it quite fast. Not worth the money for a cheap product.

I do not recommend this product. The sound quality is very poor and the mike stand does not stay up. For the price I think a parent could probably buy a regular lower end micorphone which would sound better. Also, for parents who do not enjoy repetitive noises - be warned, this item comes with several pre-recorded sounds - all of which will distract your little one and result in very little opportunity for "real" pretend performing. My daughter had more fun and was able to be more creative with her Dad's microphone. I was hoping for the same opportunities but with a product that was made for children and thus a little hardier. Unfortunately, this item is not the one.

We bought this for our 4 yr. old grandaughter for her birthday. She loved it! Started playing with it immediately. Her 17 month old little sister was ready to get her hands on it too. It had all the features we wanted.
