This CD reminds me of simpler times. Of movies made in Panavision. Bright colors and good story lines. beautiful countrysides. And sexy leading men who had class and drank martinis. I'd always had a great reverance for Mancini growing up and now I know why. His music makes me feel good. Simple as that. No big political statements, no loud ugly words or ugly beats. Just uplifting, romantic (yes, Baby Elephant Walk can be romantic) fun music. Thank you Henry.

This is a must for jazz fans. The ever popular 'Pink Panther Theme' is of course included. Also the non-jazz 'Moon River' which is a classis in itself. For some reason, this is a 'surround sound' recording (how that could be when it was recorded years ago I have no idea). The 'surround' effect is not that great but it doesn't distract from a favourite recording.

Once you have skipped the all too beaten tracks of "The Pink Panther Theme", you're in for an exciting trip to Cocktalia. There are enough smoothy-loungey tunes in there to fill in at least 10 Hotel Costes compilations up to the brim. This is Henry Mancini at his best (oh, by the way, where is "Lujon" ?). Lush orchestrations, smooth vocals and all, this is pure (easy)listening pleasure. Had it been possible, I would have granted this record 10 stars+ !!!

If you like melodic, fun, romantic, and jazzy lounge music then you'll love this! I've had this on tape for about 15 yrs now and its always remained one of my very favorites. Its great for a date night too if your in the mood for romance. Every single song is a gem, there are no fillers. I highly recommend this cd, especially if you like good lounge music.

Everyone knows the names of various actors, actresses and directors. But few know the names of the other people involved in the film industry. Henry Mancini was well known to the public for his superb film scores, a couple of which have become iconic. In fact, Mancini and John Williams are the two score composers of movies who are well known to the public, but Mancini is superior in that you can dance to his tunes (you can't really dance to the Jaws theme) and that there are many songs which are romantic. The only problem I had with this CD was that several of his songs were left out, even though it was a very good selection of his output.

A shame that he had to die.

This was perfect for my 7 1/2 year old grandson who has only been playing for 7 months and it sounds great.

A clever mix of silly tunes sure to delight children and adults of all ages!Good fun music.

Mancini was all about fun. This album captures his most whimsical contributions.

He also compsoed some of the most haunting and romantic songs we ever got too. However, the emphasis here is on comedy and fun, and it's most, most welcome.

Enjoy and laugh! Appeals to children of all ages, as they say.
