Editorial Reviews

Review

Here in one special book are the prayers, hopes, fears, and comforts of women who have had breast cancer and the families affected by the disease. The all too common diagnosis of breast cancer can send a woman into such a frightening place that the support of others becomes terribly important, and their prayers essential. This book can turn the "mourning into dancing" for thousands of women. --Cokie Roberts, ABC News, NPR, author and breast cancer survivor.

From the Back Cover

Inspired and written by breast cancer patients and survivors and the mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends who surround them, Pink Prayer Book is universally evocative. Prayers, Scripture, and quotations offer support for women moving through diagnosis and treatment toward recovery and the hope of lasting remission. The joyous voices in Pink Prayer Book lift hearts as they ask for God’s healing and never-ending love. Edited by Diana Losciale and with personal reflections by Patricia Corrigan—author and breast cancer survivor—this collection represents the experience, heartfelt thoughts, and deeply personal prayers of the women whose strength and faith can inspire each of us.

I gave this little book to my friend just as she started her treatment. When I found out she had breast cancer, I wanted to be with her and help her, but in addition to not being practical to drop everything and go everywhere with her, I would have made myself a pest. The Pink Prayer Book can go everywhere with her. As she moves from one step to the next along the journey through treatment, recovery, and full-life, the prayers move along the path with her. I love the hope each prayer brings. I want her to have hope, all the time. She's gonna make it, just like many other women with breast cancer have done, one step, one prayer, at a time. This book came along just at the right time. Thanks to all those whose prayer will bring hope to all of us.

Even though my own breast cancer journey is several years behind me, I found this book heartening and uplifting. I especially love that it tells the story of the breast cancer journey from the voices and lives of many different women.

I also love that it includes "life after breast cancer." Most people assume that once you are done with treatments, the journey is over, but that is NOT true and this book is a testament to that fact.

Also has soothing colors and illustrations (pink!). This book is a perfect complement to my own story of my journey with cancer:Bright Side of the Road: A Spiritual Journey Through Breast Cancer

This little book of prayers from/about breast cancer patients and their loved ones is moving, powerful yet ultimately hopeful.

In this crazy world, we need more sharing of prayers. Can't hurt, that is for sure.

Perfect size, great editing. This book just feels good when you hold it.

Thank you, Liguouri and Ms. Losciale
