a unique addition to the plethora of quilting books,
By Mary Lyons (Akron, Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pink Ribbon Quilts "Print on Demand Edition" (Paperback)
I highly recommend this Mimi Dietrich book for the following reasons: 1.The 11 step-by-step projects range in size and difficulty, but most are small and personal and the kind of items one can make and give as gifts. These are not involved projects that take years to complete! 2.The pages of tips that accompany the quilts are full of sound advice for friends and caregivers as well as for cancer patients themselves. 3.Two percent of the net sales benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (one of the largest private funders of research in the U.S. dedicated soley to breast cancer). The book is a gift to quilters and patients alike! We buy the book; they get more funds for research!

Come for the Cause, Stay for the Designs,
By A Customer
This review is from: Pink Ribbon Quilts "Print on Demand Edition" (Paperback)
The title attracted my attention because one of my stitching friends had recently lost her battle with breast cancer. But after leafing through the book I realized I had to add it to my growing collection of quilt books because it had so many wonderful designs, all made easy by speed cutting techniques and easy-to-read diagrams. The designs are a combination of traditional patches (with fresh colorways) and some original designs. All skill levels are represented, so the projects can challenge the experienced or provide quick yet exquisite results for the beginner. The fact that a portion of the proceeds of this book go to breast cancer research should mitigate any guilt you might feel about adding yet ANOTHER book to your collection. But this book will not duplicate any other you own -- it stands on its own merits both as a quilting book and as a dispenser of helpful advice to those who are affected by breast cancer (either their own or that of a friend or loved one).

Breast Cancer Survivor loves Pink Ribbon Quilts,
By A Customer
This review is from: Pink Ribbon Quilts "Print on Demand Edition" (Paperback)
Before I developed breast cancer, I saw an episode of Simply Quilts on HGTV featuring the author of this book and was SO inspired by it. While recovering from surgery and radiation therapy in 2001, I made several Pink Ribbon blocks with a pattern from Pink Ribbon Quilts and gave to breast cancer survivors. I'm sure in the near future, I'll be tackling one of the beautiful quilts patterns in the book. I would highly recommend this book to any quilter and/or breast cancer survivor.

The ladies where I work have this book and after seeing it so did I. I am selecting my fabrics now. Nice ideas, good cause. There probably are not too many of us that don't know someone who has been touched by breast cancer. I want to give mine to a dear friend. Good book to have and use.

Great book to cheer, support and grieve when breast cancer strikes. The patterns and ideas are great. There is something for everyone. I originally borrowed this book from a friend, but then decided it is one of the books I have to have for my collection.

great awareness projects,

I don't have breast cancer but was diagnosed with Vascular, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and have been looking for ways to raise awareness using my quilting experience.
I really enjoy this book and am very happy to discover that there are many projects that can be used for signature/friendship/community quilts. I love personalized items and these can help raise funds the traditional way by allowing communities to help one another. This book puts a smile on my face. The photos are wonderful and it is a good addition to my quilt book collection. I also purchased Threaded Together; The Pink Ribbon Quilt Project and was worried they would be alike. I am happy to say that they are each different and I am a very proud owner of them both. I am so so glad there are books like this out there. They warm my heart and I cannot help hope there will also be one for my own disorder someday.

Pink Ribbon Quilts A Book Because of Breast Cancer,
By Conway Fan (Indiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pink Ribbon Quilts "Print on Demand Edition" (Paperback)
Like the author, Mimi Dietrich I am a survivor. I had breast cancer three years ago and when I found this book I "had to have it" of course. I wanted to make a pink ribbon quilt for my self and I have one started, but I have made some to give away. I have given them to survivors and ladies still fighting and the wonderful ladies who get out and walk and raise money for the cure. If you know anyone who is fighting cancer, a survivor, or one of our angels (the ones who support us when we need them most) you can find a quilt in here for them.
