In this latest installment of the popular series, Pinkalicious has a princess-tastic time when three friends come over for a slumber party. They enjoy a game of musical chairs and decorate tiaras together. This is followed by meal of "princess and the split-pea soup," chicken nuggets a lá king and castle cupcakes. A bratty younger brother doesn't deter them from enjoying a pillowfight. One of the girls, Alison is nervous about sleeping over, until Pinkalicious reminds her "a princess faces her perils with strength." In the end, they conjure up a sparkly pink dragon to protect them through the night. Personally, I found this one a little overwhelming, but it's perfect for the super-girly, pink-obsessed young beginning reader.

Soooo cute. My daughter loves this character. She reads it often. It is on level for a beginner but does not challenge them beyong age 5 in my opinion.

Our four year old great granddaughter labors under the ridiculous belief that she is a princess -- this is perfect for her and she loves it. Also, what a great way to encourage learning to read!

I get it's Pinkalicious, but my daughter loves the stories and appreciates her silly tales, this one is about to get thrown away. A girl is sad, they do random games and then a dragon? What? Come on now folks I get we should milk this concept, but let's not hurt it.

My 3 1/2 year old loves pinkalicious. It speaks to everything girly about her starting with well, the pink! This story addresses the fear of sleeping over at someone's house as a birthday party sleepover is presented as the theme. These books are simple (and hopefully she will want to read them on her own one day ). The important thing is that my kids get really excited about BOOKS and this series contributes to that.

I bought this book for my 2 1/2 year old daughter and she loves it. The storyline is clear enough for her to follow along but complex enough that it challenges her level of comprehension. I also think, given her age, this book displays different emotions that turn into teachable moments for her as one of Pinkalicious' friends is nervous and scared to be at the sleepover.

After 3 children, we probably own over 50 1st readers. Let alone the many titles that we borrowed from the library. I have to say that this book is one of my favorites. Simple storyline and enough sight words but not overkill. I do not enjoy the early readers that repeat so much that we all lose focus. Highly recommend for your little girls.

Our 7 year old grand daughter has borrowed these books from the library and was thrilled to receive several of them as gifts. She reads them over and over. When she calls us on the telephone, she'll say, 'can I read you a book' and I know what is coming...what's better than listening to a child read!!v

This is another great addition for a young child who likes or loves Pinkalicious. The storyline always is fun and teaches the child something and I love the artwork by this author/ illustrator. Pinkalicious is always fun and entertaining to young readers in my opinion.
