Pinnacle Sub 600; for real,
This review is from: Pinnacle Digital Sub 600 Dual 12" 600-Watt Powered Subwoofer (Electronics)
OK, so, maybe I didn't but this unit new, but, check out the specs! It has two 12" woofers and one 600 watt amp. Where else are you going to find a box with this much for so little? New, $499? That's great. Of course mine was on the second hand market, but, that's still a petty good deal, IMHO. I'm not really sure where these "underperform". They don't break up like my old cheap sub did. They make the house vibrate like any expensive sub ought. Worked out great for my surround system. Sometimes, and not in my case, the amps will go on these. But, they repair them in house (Boston area) for $150, max. That's it. I encourage anyone to defy a better deal in home audio subwoofer world. Pinnacle is one of the oldest privately held manufacturers of loudspeakers in the US (Bose is the oldest). Well, Pinnacle is sourcing from China these days, but, who doesn't? At least some of the money stays in the US. I cannot say how good those $3000 subs from hi-end audio shops sound, but you would likely be hard pressed to find any major difference. And they are small. Maybe that's a disadvantage, but, no it ain't. Cheers from Cap'n Curious. Enjoy them while you can still get them. I do... Every Day!
