Switching to Pinnacle

When switching to Pinnacle, we recommend that you switch your pet over slowly. This is very important so you don’t disrupt your pet’s digestive pattern. Changing foods will often cause vomiting or diarrhea if not done correctly. Therefore, we recommend a 5-day transition before you begin feeding Pinnacle exclusively. The switch is an easy transition that includes both Pinnacle and your pet’s old brand. For the first two days, feed 20% Pinnacle and 80% of the old brand. For the next two days, feed 50% Pinnacle and 50% of your pet’s old brand. On day 5, feed 80% Pinnacle and 20% of the old brand. On the 6th day, you can feel confident feeding Pinnacle for the rest of your pet’s life. Please refer to diagram below:

Our dog had a groin rash. On the advice of our breeder we switched him to duck and potato. He was previously on a grain based dog food. His rash has gone away and his skin is healthy. When we first got this, I tried mixing in the new dog food with the old, but he picked out and ate only the new dog food. He actually enjoys eating this. Highly recommended.

We have a German Shepard/ Akita mix with food allergies to just about everything. This is the only food she can eat without a reaction. Natural Balance now has a very similar limited ingredient, duck and sweet potato product, but for some reason, that one makes the dog's stomach run. The biggest cons with this product is price and availability. We have to order it online because there are no local retailers that carry this product, and having such an expensive dog food shipped only makes the price harder to handle. But the dog's gatta eat!

I am the proxy vote for my dog. She is going on 13 years old (91 in dog years). I will not kid you that she looks like a bucking bronco when we go to serve her this dog food. It is absolutely hilarious! Anyway, Pinnacle has been the best dog food to keep our dog healthy and we do think it has kept her in great shape.

this is the only food my dogs with sensitive stomachs could eat without spitting up. I was so relieved to find it and from all that I read, it gets great reviews across the board. the only draw back is that its not stocked in many local pet stores but now that i can buy it on line, that problem is settled.

I have two bulldogs and I've had the worst time finding a food that is good for both of them. This food has done wonders for us, no gas, no diarrhea and my dogs LOVE it! They get so excited when we pull out the bag. highly recommend!

I've tried most natural and holistic dog food brands, but Pinnacle seems to be my Aussie mix's favorite. Her coat is beautiful and shiney and she's constantly receiving compliments on it! I live in the country so it's very convenient to be able to order it through amazon

We switched to Pinnacle Duck and Potato to help solve our rescue beagle's food allergies. Prior to using this dog food, she would scratch wounds in her face, but following the switch, her allergies cleared up and she allergy free for five years now. We also use the Plato Pets duck strips as a common treat.

This food has worked out great for my German Shepherd who was having digestive issues (vomiting, loose stool, intestinal gurgling) and had to be put on a "single protein" diet. It is actually not easy to find a food that is a single protein (i.e. duck) and not have any sort of chicken or chicken by-product mixed in. I found it fairly affordable compared to the few others on the market that she could have eaten that was in the $80-$90 price range. We are on our second bag and she seems to really like it. It is the first time she is eating dry food only. The food smells healthy as well; it doesn't stink like the over priced "prescription" duck food we had first purchased from the vet. It has a higher fiber content than other foods and that is good for dogs with digestive problems. Her symptoms have gone away. This food has been a good find for us!
