This book, Pinocho, is terrific for Hispanic kids, ages 4 to 8, or even American kids who want to learn Spanish. The illustrations are good and the text is just the right level of difficulty. There is also an accompanying CD which contains games and an oral presentation of the story - perfect for improving one's oral comprehension. My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that the text in the book and the oral presentation are not perfectly in sync. They are the same for the most part, but contain several differences. Nevertheless, I heartily recommend this book.

Our family speaks Spanish at home so we naturally wanted fairy tales in Spanish as well. They are close to the true stories including that Pinocho was smoking in the the island. I chose to read the story the way it is written, but my mother in law thought I was nuts. Anyways, the illustrations are nice and it is traditional Castillian Spanish. We have brought about 6 of the collection, and we will continue to purchase more as time goes by.
