Are you a marketer or small business owner trying to improve sales?

Wondering if Pinterest can help you grow revenue? It can.

In Pinterest Power you'll find the tools, tips, and techniques to market your business, sell your products and expand your reach. Here is what Susan Koger, Co-founder of Modcloth, has to say about Pinterest Power:

"Pinterest Power is the ultimate guide for any small business owner hoping to leverage the Pinterest social platform to increase sales and brand awareness. Jason Miles and Karen Lacey answer the right questions for the busy entrepreneur or marketing leader looking to explore a Pinterest account for his or her business. The book details the most important aspects of launching a Pinterest strategy: basics of the platform, real-world examples from innovative brands, and strategic advice from experts in the field. There are powerful case studies from small companies such as Liberty Jane Clothing and BurdaStyle, the former seeing sales double after implementing a Pinterest strategy and the latter seeing the site refer over 25 percent of its traffic! The early adopters high-lighted in the book offer invaluable best practices that will provide a solid foundation for building your own Pinterest presence..."

[Susan should know - the Modcloth Pinterest account has over 2.2 million followers.]

Let me give you a quick overview of how Pinterest Power is unique:

First, we take you inside our small business numbers and explain how Pinterest impacted Liberty Jane Clothing. We share the before and after site traffic, revenue details, and clear examples of how we benefited from the power of Pinterest. This isn't social media theory; it's a collection of hard won principles and best practices. We explain how we actually use Pinterest to make money. You can verify that we use Pinterest by looking at our profile at pinterest.com/cinnamonmiles/.

Next, we interview some of the most successful small businesses on Pinterest. We include great companies like Modcloth, BurdaStyle, MADE and more. Our interviews shed light on how these smart marketers are using this new platform to generate massive referral traffic. They share their tips and techniques with surprising candidness. We also include insights from non-profits and service providers, not just physical product sellers. Many service providers are using Pinterest successfully, you can learn from their success.

Finally, we interview the Pinterest team and they share wisdom and insight on how brands should use Pinterest for maximum success. You won't find this information in any other book, or online interview. It's only available in Pinterest Power.

We've built this book as a detailed blueprint for effective marketing on Pinterest, with chapter after chapter of selling strategies, concepts, tips, and tactics all designed to get you launched successfully on this amazing new social media site.

If you need a Pinterest plan that is battle tested, proven to work in the real world of competitive marketing, and written by small business marketers for other small business marketers, then Pinterest Power is for you.

All the best on your Pinterest marketing efforts,

Jason Miles

As a small business owner (handmade cards, gifts and decor - avantcarde.etsy.com), I purchased this book as a way to boost our presence on Pinterest. Given that our products are visually appealing, I knew that learning about the 'power' of Pinterest (and being a part of this new social media giant) would be important to the growth of our business. I have been very impressed with the book and its content. When I bought the book, I knew the basics of Pinterest and had already successfully set up an Account and created several boards. Since I knew nothing beyond that, I wanted a book that would guide me through leveraging Pinterest and integrating it into our overall marketing strategy. I learned tons and have been implementing many of the techniques presented. The book is easy to read, well organized and full of valuable information that will benefit any business owner interested in using Pinterest. Would recommend highly.

Full disclosure: I paid full (Amazon) price for my copy of this book (that is, I did not receive a review copy) but I did receive a ton of associated "reserve your copy in advance" material as part of the purchase. The goodies aren't changing my review. I reserve five stars for books that pretty much change my core thinking about something, and Pinterest Power doesn't do that. However, it's good, it's as good as any of the current crop of Pinterest how-to books, and I like the tone.

One of the business-popular-tech magazines (Inc or Fast Company or Wired) covered the previous books about Pinterest a few months before Pinterest Power came out, and the reviews were all a bit dismissive. At that time, I held on to my money as a result. It may well be that Pinterest itself has matured and those books were premature. YMMV. I have followed Jason's pins and blog for a while and I like his approach. Tested, responsible, pragmatic, proven.

The book is easy, straightforward, and thorough, and if you're serious about using Pinterest to generate traffic, leads, and sales, you will be able to learn a lot. It's WAY cheaper than any of the on-line education I've seen, and covers at least as much if not a great deal more. More accessible, IMO, and bathtub friendly in a way anything online is simply not.

I'm not completely happy with the explanation of how US Copyright law intersects with Pinterest (in short, the authors punted with an "IANAL" clause). IMO, businesses are much more likely to be the target of a copyright challenge, because we have (at least in the eyes of the prosecution) the money. Copyright law is not difficult.

I found this book easy to read and filled with lots of great information about marketing and Pinterest. The points listed at the end of each chapter were great at focusing on exactly what needs to be considered. Good for a beginner or a seasoned user of social networks, this helps to explain how to tie everything together and get the most eyes on your product.

I read a lot of business and marketing books, especially those on how to use social media for business. And as someone who helps authors build their online platform using social media, I get asked a lot about Pinterest. It's a site that I've been talking about all year long, so I'm thrilled to finally have a solid marketing book I can recommend that focuses on Pinterest.

This is an excellent book for all experience levels: whether you've been using Pinterest for months or you're just getting started, and whether you have extensive online marketing experience or you're new to the world of social media marketing. This book focuses on the use of Pinterest for all types of businesses and organizations, and it provides specific examples for how to use the site.

You'll learn how Pinterest can be of use to service-based businesses, product-based businesses, and nonprofits. If you're an eBay seller, an Amazon author, or an Etsy seller, you'll learn how to integrate Pinterest into your marketing efforts. You'll also learn how to use Pinterest for your school, your church, your local sports team, or your community or government organization. This book provides clear examples on how all types of businesses and organizations can use Pinterest.

Pinterest Power will also show you how to run contests on Pinterest, how to drive traffic to your Pinterest profile, and how to drive traffic from Pinterest to your own website. It also provides suggestions for an integrated marketing approach, and explains how to add Pinterest to your online marketing strategy. You'll learn the difference between camptaigns and tactics, and how you can run marketing campaigns using Pinterest.

Why should you include Pinterest in your online marketing programme? If that is a question you are asking in your business then I recommend that you invest in Pinterest Power: Market Your Business, Sell Your Product, and Build Your Brand on the World's Hottest Social Network. It is a great resource for those new to Pinterest as it provides practical tips of how to use Pinterest in your small business to market your products and provides guidance on how to sell on Pinterest and tips for hosting competitions.

The book includes a number of case studies of small businesses using Pinterest and also has a chapter relevant specifically for non-profits.

If you are looking to be more successful with your Pinterest marketing this a very worthwhile investment.
