I downloaded a couple of Pinterest guides and read this one first. By the time I finished this book I had decided that Pinterest was the last site I wanted to devote time to. The author doesn't venture far enough afield from her own interests - kids, etc. - to give an appealing vision of what you can do with Pinterest. And the initial pages of hard sell for her money-making let-me-teach-you-how-to-use-the-site endeavors were definitely a turn-off.

Luckily I had also downloaded Pinterest - Build Your Brand, Your Tribe, Your Sales (2nd Ed) which is much more fully fleshed out and gives a much better sense of what you can do with the site. If I start pinning it will be because of that book, not this one.

A more specific beef with this book is that while the author touches on the copyright issues that are a huge problem with Pinterest, she unfortunately doesn't seem to understand copyright basics. It's not "fine art" that is copyright protected - it's everyone's creations - my photos, your photos, etc. I'm not sure which is worse - don't mention the copyright elephant in the room, or to give incorrect advice about it.

Pinterest Savvy changed the way I create, edit and cultivate my Pinterest content (e.g. boards, my pins and my re-pins). I am more confident and organized in my overall strategy professionally as a blogger. The minor changes I made to my Pinterest approach after reading Melissa's book increased my followers by 20% (1000s) within 12 days of reading the book. I am more excited than ever about building my blog readership and community through Pinterest. Oh, lastly, Ms. Taylor writes extremely well. Concise and easy to read. Best time & money you'll spend on understanding and using Pinterest as a business tool.

"Genius Pinterest book by Melissa Taylor! Not only is her writing style easy to understand, but her super simple steps will make you Pinterest Savvy in no time at all. The perfect book for beginners looking to start a new account or Pin-Stars who are wanting a few new tips to give their current account a boost in followers and pin traffic. I highly recommend (and will) this book to anyone and everyone with even the slightest interest in the new trend of Pinterest."

I read a lot of marketing books. Basically this is in the list of books that are for readers with very little experience in the topic, but like all good digital marketers the author knows how to title the book to attract even more experienced users. It's really like a pure affiliate marketing type title.

Basically, if you already use Pinterest and are truly aiming for 1mm followers, then I highly doubt the information in this book will help you do that.

This is an awesome guide to anyone who is getting started on Pinterest - especially bloggers and brands. There are some great tips for more seasoned Pinterest users, as well.

Thank goodness I didn't pay for this. Nothing new or interesting and it all comes down to being an early adopter and pinning great stuff, often.

Great info for the beginning nuts and bolts. But if you're looking for more in depth info on why lots of followers translates to income--nope.

And note to author, several typos so you should fix those, plus some odd spacing issues.
