From School Library Journal
Kindergarten-Grade 2—Reminiscent of Arnold Lobel's "Frog and Toad" books (HarperCollins) but with an identity all its own,
Pinwheel Days is an ode to the joys of friendship. A likable donkey and his animal friends laugh, play, share, say "thank you," and appreciate one another. The four easy-to-read chapters feature abundant dialogue and humorous plots. Complementing the text, the watercolor illustrations are characterized by round figures, warm earth tones, and decorative elements such as multiple patterns. This early chapter book has charm and broad child appeal.—

Frog and Toad, Tallows easy-to-read characters promote the theme of friendship and cooperation. Pinwheel the donkey and Squirrel entertain themselves with hide and seek, and playing the echo game. They sail across the pond and enjoy a picnic lunch with Rabbit on a lazy day. Later, Pinwheel thinks he has broken the tree when the leaves begin falling down. Owl informs them of his favorite season, fall, and they all join in for a leaf-jumping good time. Children will be able to relate to the simple games and antics of Pinwheel and friends.
