Lovely and soft for a good night's sleep, December 2, 2009
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I love the look of these sheets. They're simple and uncluttered but they're beautifully enhanced by the pleated hem detail on the top sheet and the pillowcases which gives them the appearance of a far more expensive set. The pleated hem on the top sheet presents a neat, finished edge when folded down over a blanket or coverlet, a very nice design touch. They're generously sized too so they easily fit deep mattresses and there's no pulling and tugging a skimpy top sheet which I've found myself doing too often with other sheets supposedly sized for Queen sized beds.
The Egyptian cotton is wonderfully soft and smooth with none of the scratchiness often associated with cotton and helps make for a comfortable night's sleep. And washing only improves them and makes them softer. Wrinkles, another bane of cotton, aren't a problem either. They came out of the dryer with barely a crease and what few there were, smoothed out once they were on the bed.
The quality, workmanship and appearance of this sheet set are all excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Still Making Up My Mind, January 10, 2010
I have now washed these sheets twice, and although I'm not totally sold on them, I AM considering purchasing a second set. Here are some considerations:
--- The "parchment" color leans toward mauve, rather than cream.
--- The sheets get pretty wrinkled in the dryer. I don't worry about wrinkly sheets, but if you do, think twice.
--- There is no pilling after two washes. Good thing, too; I hate pilling and will amend my review if it appears.
--- You won't want to launder these sheets with anything that might lint; they collect it like crazy. And if you have pets (I have cats) you'll probably need to spend time picking off little balls of pet hair that magically appear. I do not allow my cats to sleep on the sheets, and I am fastidious about keeping my comforter and carpet free of pet hair, but these sheets seem to attract it from the ambiance.
--- The fitted sheet is nice and snug on my deep mattress. While I don't mind wrinkled fabric, I don't like sleeping on lumps and folds; the fitted sheet in this set stays smooth between changings.
--- The top sheet is a perfect width for comforters. I've had several sets that I had to tuck in on the sides to avoid visibility below my comforter. Not these.
--- The tucks in the hems of the top sheet and pillow cases look classy, but the edges do have a tendency to roll. As much as I am adverse to ironing, I am tempted to haul out the board to address this issue. Also, because I am a side sleeper who tends to sleep on the edge of my pillow, if the pillow isn't snugly into the case, I awaken with marks on my cheek from the tucks.
--- The sheets are substantial in weight without overdoing it. I have a set (different brand) of 440 thread count sheets that are so heavy as to be uncomfortable, but the Pinzon set feels much better. Still, if you like your top sheet to drape around your body, you probably won't care for these.

Amazon's Pinzon is Good Quality, November 23, 2009
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I am not a newcomer to Amazon's own linen line, Pinzon. I have purchased two sets previously, and I have found them to be a quality product. This particular 400-thread count Parchment set is impressive. The sheets have a great feel, with a nice pleated hem, for decoration. The quality and detail of the pleated him surprised me, for this price point. It is a quality product. The parchment color is perfect. It is worth commenting that even the pillow cases have the large pleated him. A nice finishing touch.
This particular set is made in China. I must say I have also tried a Pinzon 600-thread count product made in Portugal, which was even better quality.
Nevertheless, there is nothing to complain about with this set. It's a quality linen set delivered straight to your door, with the Amazon service you trust. Amazon does a fine job with its own products. One may only hope Amazon will have more lines of their own brand products in the future. Pinzon shows Amazon delivers not only other products, but their own too.
