Better than expected,
By J.B. (Seattle, WA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pinzon 440-Thread-Count 100-Percent Cotton Damask Stripe Queen Sheet Set, Federal Blue (Kitchen)
The first thing I love about these sheets is the rich color. The online images do not do it justice. Then I was pleasantly surprised how deep these sheets were. I have a memory foam mattress pad on top of my regular mattress and all past sheets would barely cover both let alone stay in place. I am very happy to say that these not only more than cover the entire set, but stay in place without riding up, even after several washings. The rich colors combined with the stripes added a smart clean warm look to the room. I would highly recommend these.

This review is from: Pinzon 440-Thread-Count 100% Cotton Damask Stripe Full Sheet Set, Corn Silk (Kitchen)
These sheets are rich in color and texture, and remind me of the sheets in an old-time luxury hotel from days gone by. Just what I wanted for hot and humid nights. Smooth texture but not slippery with a very nice stripe damask that gives them an restful and inviting look. I washed then in very hot water and hung them on the line to dry so they could get that fresh outdoors smell and crispness you can't get in the dryer. They had no shrinkage I could see and some natural wrinkles are just exactly what one should have if they have cotton sheets without synthetic fibers or sizing. I just got these and so I can't comment on wear, but at this price, I've already gotten my money's worth. I looked at a lot of department store and speciaty store sheets before buying these. These are very good quality at a bargain price. I will buy more.

Cardboard Would Be Better,

This review is from: Pinzon 440-Thread-Count 100-Percent Cotton Damask Stripe Queen Sheet Set, Federal Blue (Kitchen)
Yes, the color is beautiful and rich. And yes, they wash well. But these are going into the trash because they are about as soft as cardboard. Some say they feel crisp -- I'd say stiff and scratchy. It's hard to believe that these have such a high thread count. I've tried everything: Softening sheets, liquid softener, plastic softener balls in the dryer. Forget it. I'm buying something else. This product may look good, but you won't, after a sleepless night on these terrible sheets.
