Nice and fluffy, but a couple of things you should know,
By Sunnspot (Washington State) - See all my reviews

This Featherbed is nice and fluffy, but there are a couple of things I did not realize when I purchased it that I wish I had known. So I will enlighten future shoppers: It is NOT baffle boxed. This means that the materials can move all over and it is more difficult to "refluff" them back into place. Also it is not strictly feather, there is also fiberfill mixed in. I bought it because it was the thickest one listed. It lives up to that. It still feels nice and provides cushion to pressure points, it is just a bit more maintenance than one that is baffle boxed. It is a good buy, pricewise, I suspect to get this thickness with baffling, and 100% feather would probably cost a couple hundred more. Maybe I should have given it 4 stars, but I can't seem to change it now. Sweet Dreams!

Like Sleeping on a Cloud!,

I ordered this product and got it on time. It is about 5 inches thick, is fluffy and made of nice material. Although there is no way to attach this to your mattress, so far that has not been a problem. Probably because the featherbed weighs 31lbs and stays in place. I have not had any feathers poking me as the down is in the top chamber, and not feathers. It was absolutely heavenly to sleep on and most of my circulation problems have not returned. I toss and turn a lot at night, and turning used to be difficult. Now it is very easy and comfortable to move around.
I would highly recommend this bed to anyone. Keep in mind that because of the thickness that makes this so comfortable, you will probably have to use only sheets that have a bottom sheet that is extra deep to accommodate the thickness.

Finally, A Featherbed That Does Not Poke,

This review is from: Pinzon Chamonix Queen Reversible Dual Season Down Featherbed (Kitchen)
I just got my queen size reversible featherbed last week - it has been amazing. Now I love feather beds ever since I traveled to Germany two years ago - but I have always had occasional feathers poke through. I can report back that one week later it has not poked me and it feels amazing. The site mentions lots of techy stuff - but I know form some shirts I have bought that I love Tencel fabrics. I also like the fact that I have the worm down side now in the winter and when it gets warmer in the summer I can flip it to the cool Tencel side.
My wife agrees that this feather bed has been a great buy and I we recommend it whether you have an older mattress or a brand new one! Cheers, Stef

Our 16-year-old pillowtop mattress was getting less comfortable. When I read the reviews about all the problems with new mattresses, I decided to try this instead. I put it over the mattress, under the mattress pad. Voila---the cloudlike quality of our mattress is restored! I just shake it when I change the sheets--no other care needed. I like the 2 sides---one to use in warmer weather and one for cooler weather. I had read some reviews of down featherbeds that said they were too warm in summer, so I was happy to find this one. Very comfortable!

FYI- I never really write reviews. However, I just wanted to tell my story. Basically to make a long story short my wife and me bought a bed. The bed for some reason gave me serious back pain. So we got one of those memory foam mattress (thick as we could) and that helped me but gave my wife back problems. We couldn't afford to run out and buy a brand new bed cause we had a brand new bed already. What we did do for the next 5 months or so, we slept in our guest bed. Then doing research I discovered this feather bed matress pad...... It's AWESOME! No more back pain for me or my wife, it's as they say "like sleeping on a cloud". We both sleep so well every night. If your looking for a cheap solution to buying a new bed get this. The feathers do bunch up "SOME" not a lot. Not even close to enough to list as a con becuase they dont' all bunch up. We are just so happy we got this featherbed. I've reccomended it already to 2 people I know that needed new beds and I'm now giving my glowing recommendation to you. Get this matress you will be so glad you did....

The first night on this pad, I felt like I was sleeping in a wonderland of softness. It was such an improvement over my mattress. But after a few nights of sleeping in the middle, I found myself in a feather cave and it started to feel like an expedition to extract myself from its cozy confines. I suppose one could re-fluff to re distribute the feathers or if one slept with a partner, there would be less personal cave-age to contend with. Still three stars because it was lovely and very high quality.

I bought this featherbed because our current one did not have any thickness to it. When I found this one, I was amazed at how thick it looked in the picture and hoped that when I got this in person, that it would be the same. And, it was.
I have a very bad lower back, and I needed some extra cushion to our mattress. It's been a week, and I've never slept as well as I have the past few days. This featherbed is simply amazing, and my back isn't as sore when I get up in the mornings. It simply relaxes you for a great night sleep. To keep it fluffed, be sure to shake it and rotate it every night. It is a pain to do this each night, but it is well worth it and will keep your featherbed looking fluffy and comfortable as the day you got it.

I LOVE THIS FEATHERBED..!,
This review is from: Pinzon Chamonix Queen Reversible Dual Season Down Featherbed (Kitchen)
Having never slept on a featherbed before, I did quite a bit of research before purchasing it. The quality and detail are outstanding in every way - as I had no idea how wonderful, plush, and comfortable a featherbed could be! Quite literally, I feel like I'm sleeping on a bed of clouds every night. (I'm also allergic to down/feathers, yet I've encountered no problems whatsoever.) So for anyone out there who is considering a featherbed, I have to give this FIVE STARS all the way.

Not very durable,

I have had this featherbed for about 4 years now. On the whole, I have been pleased. Yes, feathers occasionally poke out, but it wasn't too bad. Yes, it needs to be fluffed fairly regularly, but that's to be expected. However, over the course of the last year, everything is coming apart. Literally. The seams are failing and all the feathers are spilling out. I've been trying to patch it here and there, but you can't just use regular thread to sew it up because it'll quickly snap again. I'm at the point where I'll either have to find some heavy-duty thread and do some serious sewing or just get rid of the bed altogether. That would be a shame given how much this bed costs. I was definitely expecting a more durable product.

This feather mattress is WONDERFUL!! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is because we find we need to fluff it up about once a week; the feathers drift to the center because there is no baffling in the mattress to keep them in place. But even so, this mattress is SO soft and comfortable -- we love it!!
