5.0 out of 5 stars Best comforter I ever bought!
I have owned many many comforters over the years and this is by far the best. The previous one I was using felt too heavy and was way too hot except for the coldest of winter nights. The current one I was using was way too thin and the down clumped in the middle and left the perimeters bare (it was an expensive one bought at a high-end well-known department store too); I...

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT Leak-proof = Feathers EVERYWHERE
Buyer Beware! The item was indeed excellent quality, at least for about the first 30 days. Unfortunately, shortly thereafter, I started finding more Down feathers on my floor than in my comforter. I have always used a duvet cover (300 thread count), but feathers constantly leaked. There are no obvious holes or weak seams. The feathers simply come directly through the...

I have owned many many comforters over the years and this is by far the best. The previous one I was using felt too heavy and was way too hot except for the coldest of winter nights. The current one I was using was way too thin and the down clumped in the middle and left the perimeters bare (it was an expensive one bought at a high-end well-known department store too); I returned it after 6 months since it had a 4 year warranty and exchanged it for another one which supposedly was stitched thru to prevent the down from shifting. Wrong advertising, returned to department store again! After reading the reviews on this one, worth a try since my options were so limited. Extremely happy: it is plush enough to give that "comfy" feeling but not so heavy as to weight you down. The covering material has the feel of silk; the pattern is gorgeous. Most importantly, NO shifting of down whatsoever, so it is advertised correctly. And also importantly, if it has to be machine washed, it can be. The price also beats sales at high-end department stores. If I had another bed to buy for, I'd buy another one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Value, January 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I spent a great deal of time looking for a good quality comforter. As such, I read many reviews. While many were somewhat helpful, none of them really helped me zero in on whether or not this particular comforter would suit the needs of my wife and I. How warm is your room when you turn in for the night? Do you generally run hot or cold as a general rule? Are people reviewing this w/ other blankets involved? What exactly is WARM? So, I will address a few points that might help the rest of you out because for the life of me I couldn't find a review that laid out the important pieces.

A. Temperature - we go to sleep at 65 degrees F. Our thermostats roll back at 7pm so I am quite comfortable saying its actually 65 degrees when we go to bed.

B. Personal preferences for warmth - my wife is almost always cold. I am almost always hot. During the night, we flip flop. I cool down and become comfortable, she warms up and starts to sweat.

C. We only sleep w/ this comforter and a sheet. Haven't bought a douvet (sp?) yet.

**************

This comforter is fantastic. We are kept comfortably warm all night, neither too hot nor too cold. Our temperatures remained stable through the evening into morning. Its a pleasure to go to sleep underneath one of these.

As mentioned in other reviews, its filled very evenly, lofts nicely when out of the box, and the comforter material is very soft.

Very happy we purchased this item - would not hesitate to recommend to a friend or family member.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pinzon Pyrenees Down Comforter (mediium wight), January 18, 2008
Even though listed as medium weight, the comforter is light. It has provided excellent warmth during some of the coldest nighrs this winter.

We had been using two and even three blankets before receiving this one. We have retired the others--the Pinzon alone provides all the warmth we need. This is a first-rate product and I highly recommend it.

After checking and comparing down comforters from many other websites and our local Costco for value, the amount of fill & quality cover material. These (bought 2) were the best choice for me. They are quality made, truly "down" and after removing from the shipping box they fluffed up beautifully! Even though they are "medium" warmth, they are very warm and cozy but not hot. I use flannel duvet covers so this may add to the warmth.

The feathers simply come directly through the fabric. I just purchased an $80 "comforter protector" that will hopefully resolve the problem, but if I knew this was going to be an issue, I would have spent $80 more on a better quality comforter in the first place.

This review is from: Pinzon Pyrenees White Goose Down Comforter (Kitchen)
I've purchased many down comforters over the years, but this is the best by far! Great price, too. I've had it since May, 2009 and it's perfect for a cool night and when it's freezing. It doesn't feel heavy and it's very warm but not too hot. The cover is so soft, almost silky and it's true to size. The light stipe is beautiful. When I unpacked it, there was no smell and it took just a shake to fluff it up. Nice and poofy.

I don't use a duvet and my Golden Retriever jumped on it first thing with muddy paws! I've since spilled hot chocolate on it ...and then there was the time I fell asleep on top of the comforter and got make-up all over. Yikes! A little "Spray and Wash" and it washed like a dream. All the stains came out and it looked and felt like new. It took a little over an hour to dry and there was no shifting of the down.

Beautiful, Silky, Warm, WASHABLE and a great price. What more could you ask for?

3.0 out of 5 stars 75% Goose Down, Let it be known, July 7, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pinzon Pyrenees White Goose Down Comforter (Kitchen)
I just received this comforter and the tag says "Minimum 75% Goose Down." I kinda wish this wasn't hidden from me. I bought the medium warmth comforter and it seems a lot thinner than I imagined. The 14 inch baffle boxes seem kinda big for the amount of filling in each one. You can feel fabric touching fabric if you feel the right places. I will update this review if I change my mind.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pinzon goose down comforter, August 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Honestly, all of the other reviews raved about this comforter, but I wasn't that impressed with it. I mean, this was my first down comforter and my expectations were pretty high, but this just didn't meet them at all.

It is pretty nice looking and the baffle box design was fantastic.. But it didn't seem to be THAT filled with feathers and if you sat or laid on it, it flattened a LOT. It was easily puffed back up though but the thinness just made it look kind of cheap. The material was soft though and I really like the subtle stripes though.

It also didn't keep me that warm. Moving from Arkansas to Massachusetts for college, I knew I would need a good, warm comforter and this didn't cut it. I used a microfleece blanket underneath this, and I was still shivering even with a radiator (kind of sucky) next to me. I guess I do like it warmer, but I will be purchasing a new comforter for this winter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really nice, March 28, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We love this comforter, warm, well made, beautiful fabric, seems true to size. Shake it when it arrives to fluff up the down. The down is very soft and none of it is poking through the fabric. I love the oversized because now I can stay covered up! I have some of the Pinzon towels and I am impressed by this fine line of homegoods. Got it really fast, well packed and with Amazon's great service.

3 Year Update: This comforter still looks brand new 3 yrs later. We keep it on the bed year round and just fold it back during summer. I have washed it 2 or 3 times and it comes out looking great. Still no leakage and with the baffles, the down hasn't moved around either. I found an oversized duvet cover that fits it perfectly. I highly recommend this down comforter!
