The Pio Peep book is wonderful, with lots & lots of traditional rhymes! However, the English translations are often inaccurate, I imagine for the sake creating an English interpretation that rhymes! The book is also great quality which is something that I have found lacking in children's Spanish books ie paper thickness & texture, print quality & colour intensity etc.
The CD is very disappointing. The Spanish songs last a total of 10 minutes followed by the poorly translated english versions. If only the CD featured more Spanish renditions of the wonderful rimas featured within the book!
Would I buy it again? Perhaps just the book!

This book is beautifully illustrated and the little rhymes are wonderful. I have read this book to various ages and it's always a bit hit.

Great bilingual book and CD. The CD had great music on it in both Spanish and English. Great way to introduce traditional Spanish poems and music to your young on.

Our baby isn't born yet, but we've started reading to him already. This book has short, fun rhymes in both English and Spanish. We haven't used the CD yet, but I like this book so much that I've purchased it as gifts for several friends also expecting who want their kids to grow up bilingual.

Overall I'm disappointed. The book itself seems really nice: there are 29 songs (though some are only a few lines), it's sturdy enough to withstand toddlers, and it has lovely illustrations. However I find the CD even worse than the other reviewer mentioned. The music is nice enough - some children's albums are awful, but this is not the case here. The problem is that it includes only 8 of the 29 songs, which is a total of 11 minutes in Spanish, and the same again in English translations (or often quasi-similar adaptations). I'm raising bilingual children, but I'm not a native speaker, so most Spanish children's songs are unfamiliar to me. The lovely illustrations are not so enticing if I don't know the melodies and we can't learn to sing the songs together, so this book hasn't really helped me introduce my kids to the songs and culture. Maybe I could track down the songs somewhere, but why didn't the authors put more than 20 minutes of music on the CD, which could easily have them all in both languages? If you know the songs, it's great. If you're not yet familiar with these songs and rhymes, maybe try something by Jose-Luis Orozco instead - my kids love his stuff.

My son (1year) LOVES this book. Everyday he pulls the book of the shelf and insists that we read it. The CD is also great, although it only has select rhymes from the book. I wish there was another version of this book, b/c we are getting sick of reading it over and over. Great for bi-lingual children and families
