Its refreshing to find a book that shows how many different people from far flung fields it took to finally build a workable aircraft. Yes the Wright Brothers played thier part but they did it by standing on the wealth of information created by others. The exciting period from 1908 to 1914 when every week breakthroughts and records tumbled is very well covered by this book! This is a must have book for any true student of early aviation.
I am Steven Harvey author of IT STARTED WITH A STEAMBOAT and I greatly enjoyed this book and hope to read many of the other books writen by Putnam. |
