if there were more records like this one. For me, this is the best trio record I have heard in years. Seager's trio plays three standards, five originals, and one free improvisation. Each member contributes passionately to the gentle atmosphere of the CD which I played both at late parties and for Sunday brunches, to great acclaim. The music reminds me of Gustavsen's "Changing Places" or Jarrett's "Melody At Night", though the improvisations here are more interesting to me, due to their high risk (check out 'Blue Yonder'), gentle energy ('Where have all the flowers gone?'), and moments of sheer beauty ('Pioneer'). A CD commended to everyone.
