I have had three previous bluetooth cell phone handsfree devices, this is the best yet, connects quickly, is CLEAR AS EVER and has more options that even I have used.
Phone book feature is a bit difficult to get to work. have not got that going as yet.

This unit is excellent. I purchased this adapter, to be used with my premier DEH-P690UB, and it works great, feels like a factory equipment. It comes with the microphone and installation wires, very long ones, so yo can put it almost wherever you like (I did my own instalation).
Once connected, all you have to do is pair your bluetooth mobile to the unit, and register it as a phone. you can register 5 mobile phones, 3 main registration, and 2 guest phones (it only auto-connect with registered phones). The difference between the main phones, and the guest ones, is that the main ones, can handle phone book entries. Phonebook entries are 500 (total), 300 for phone #1, 150 for phone #2, and 50 for phone #3. Phonebook entries, refers to names, and each name can have many numbers assigned. I have 260 entries, some with 5 numbers assigned, and are working fine. Reading the phonebook in my unit, is a little slow I think, as it takes bout 2 seconds for the 1st name name to appear, an then they begin to appear progressively.
Transferring the phonebook is easy, as far as YOUR MOBILE phone supports it. Some phones, allow you to transfer all contacts (one example is almost any SonyEricsson) others, allows you to transfer contacts one by one, and in some, it simply not posible, but that depends on the phone, not this unit.
As for the sound quality, is excellent. Almost anyone that I have called, noticed no difference between using the handsfree or using my mobile directly. You can adjust the volume, and it stays the same for phone mode, independently of other modes. Other audio ajustments are fixed.
When I receive a call, the radio automatically switch to phone mode (even if the unit is off), and the caller id is displayed on the screen, even with the name (if it is in the radio phonebook), and also gets back to the previous mode after you hangup (or reject) the call. With my head unit, is very difficult to dial a number, since it has no number keys on the front. You have to scroll number by number, although you can dial easily using the remote control (of the main unit) since it have all the numbers. I suppose it is easier on avic units.
I have read that this unit has some problems with Windows Mobile Smartphones, because some bluetooth limitations on the WM bluetooth, but it can be fixed with some 30 USD software I can't remember. I haven't tested this limitations since I don't have one available yet, but I advise WM Smartphone users to research a little.

PROS:
-Excellent sound quality.
-Integrates well with bluetooth compatible Pioneer and Premier units.
-Can register 5 Mobile phones
-Separate phonebook for the 3 main ones.
-Each phonebook entry can have many numbers (I have tested a max. of 5)
-Can play (and control in some cases) Bluetooth compatible music players, as long as they support the A2DP profile
-Works on stand by, even if the main unit is off (as long as the car switch is on ACC or ON position)
-Lot of options.
Cons:
-Phonebook a little slow to read the entries.
-Difficult to 'direct dial' a phone number on some units.
-?Compatibility issues with some smartphones?

I highly recomend this product, to anyone who has a Pioneer bluetooth compablible head unit and a bluetooth phone.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Bluetooth Device is Golden !!, March 10, 2008

Great service and quick delivery. This Bluetooth device works like a charm. Had it Professionally installed and everyone states the sound quality is as if was right next to them. Thanks Amazon and 6th Ave Electronics. Keep up the good service. A+++

Just note: The trick to getting your Cell phone working to the Pioneer CD-BTB200, is to have the Pioneer CD-BTB200 search and configure your cell phone. The manual will walk you through this. The phone not stay connected via Bluetooth, if you use your Cell phone to attach \ configure itself to the Pioneer CD-BTB200. :)

UPDATE

After 3 years I now get an ERROR 80 everytime I try to use this device. It is very very disappointing to have this happen after I have had such great usage.

As I have another cellphone blue tooth kit (Parrot) available Free, I will try that now instead.

So I guess i should lower my star rating to 3/5

3.0 out of 5 stars note: if using with avh-4300dvd.... only partially works, March 4, 2011
This review is from: Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Wireless Adapter (Electronics)
i bought this for my girlfriends car and installed it with the avh-p4300dvd and it does work.... but not at all like it should. i have the mvh-p8200bt in my jeep and the built in bluetooth works flawlessly, so i was very dissimpressed when i started using this unit... if you have the avh-p4300dvd you will not get everything this is supposed to do, first off you cannot download your phone book into the head unit.. lame..., second, it doesnt even show the full phone number when you are recieving a phone call, it cuts it off so cant even tell who is calling. third, there is no way of dialing out other then using your phone and then it connects to the blue tooth once it starts dialing... so kinda defeats part of the "hands free" operation. fourth, the volume does not stay at what you had it set while on a phone call, the volume is the same as the radio volume... in other words if you have the volume low and then receive or make a phone call, you will not be able to hear the other person even though they can hear you, then by the time you realize the volume was down they hang up... very frustrating..

1.0 out of 5 stars Used to be good, now it's terrible, November 29, 2011
This review is from: Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Wireless Adapter (Electronics)
I own two of these units. They are over 3 years old at this point. Neither unit has reliable performance with my wife's iPhone 3GS or my iPhone 4. We get drop-outs during bluetooth audio playback, and call quality is very choppy most times.

The other gripe is that the unit will only automatically connect to the programmed device in the first registered slot, registered slots 2 and 3 must be manually connected. This is a pain when my wife and I switch cars.

Finally, there is no external usb connector on the device, so there is no way for Pioneer to perform software updates on these devices in the field. I suspect the engineers at Pioneer did not expect this device to be on the market for as long as it has been.

On balance, I would avoid this device and go with a head-unit that has bluetooth technology integrated into the head unit. This one isn't up to the task.

5.0 out of 5 stars quick and clear, July 12, 2011

This adapter was a quick process to install. I just needed to plug, connect a couple of wires and I was ready to go. The mic sounds so clear I don't think people can tell I am connected to a Bluetooth set at all. Good for your dollar. If you're thinking about getting it, get it.

I am not the most mechanical person in the world, however i was able to install this MYSELF (which is a huge accomplishment for me) in a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer with a Pioneer AVIC D3 already installed.

Basically, all you really need to do is follow ALL the instructions. Some phones will not sync the address book like my iPhone, or maybe i just didnt follow the instructions that well. Pairing the phone was semi weird, but just read the instructions word for word. It will save you a headache.

The sound is excellent on both ends. No one can tell if i'm using the device or not. The cords are long enough to place the mic and unit just about anywhere you want.

The only think i DON'T like is you don't have the option to use the dial pad while on a call, you have to use the phone itself. Safety first right?

Overall, this is the best thing i could have added to my vehicle since i never take my ear piece BT off the charger. This was the a very easy decision for me to make.

Works as advertised. Sound quality very good. You can install this yourself if you know how to install car stereos. If not, you might want to get some help from your local installer. Auto-answer works great. My radio automatically switches to the phone, rings twice, and picks up. After the call it switches back. Areas for improvement: 1) phone book - you should be able to easily transfer your phone book to this unit, but you probably can't. The unit is set up to work with a phone that can "push" the phone book. Both my phones can let another device "pull" the phone book, but neither can push. So both my phone and this device sit there waiting for the other to start. Very annoying. 2) you can't use any of the advanced functions unless your parking brake is on. For example, you can't manually pair a phone, dial a number on the radio screen or anything like that unless your parking brake is on (this applies to radios with built in DVD players only).

2.0 out of 5 stars Background noise!!!, February 4, 2009
By
This review is from: Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Wireless Adapter (Electronics)
The install was a snap....it's easy to use.... but I have yet to find a place to put the mic where it doesn't pick up EVERYTHING. There needs to be a way to adjust the mic sensitivity. I get very little complaints from the other end of the line when sitting still with the engine off but if the truck is in motion everyone says there is too much background noise to clearly understand me.
