Launch Pandora on your connected iPhone, and you'll be able to experience it through your receiver, complete with bookmarking and thumbs up/down buttons.

AM/FM Radio

Tune into your favorite stations with Pioneer's Supertuner IIID technology, complete with 24 presets.

Radio Tagging

Have you ever heard a great song on the radio, but couldn't remember what it was called or who sang it when you went to go look for it later? Now you don't have to worry about missing out on great music. iTunes Tagging gives you the power to "tag" all of your favorite songs without having to scramble for a piece of scrap paper in the car, then later preview or purchase music at iTunes Music Store. Works with stations transmitting RDS artist/song data.

Advanced Sound Retriever

Hear the detail, warmth and clarity, the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3 and WMA files stored on your USB device, iPod and portable media players. By restoring data (especially higher frequencies) that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever technology enhances audio reproduction nearly all the way up to 20 kHz frequencies.

MOSFET Amplification

Powered by Pioneer's MOSFET 50W x 4 amplifier, the DEH-6300UB serves up serious performance with minimal distortion, for great sound regardless of the source. Two 2V RCA preouts provides flexibility to expand your system, complete with high- and low-pass filters.

This car receiver is strongly recommended for the following reasons:

1. If you have the Pandora app on your iPhone, it will allow you to control the station off the receiver. You have access to all your favorite stations.
2. The sound is incredible. There are so many ways to control your sound. It comes with stock EQs and it allows the user to personalize his or her own EQ settings. The user can also control its loudness, bass, and sub-woofers (upto two subs).
3. The USB slot allows the users to connect USB storage devices to it. Memory sticks, storage devices, different iPhone models, and iPods and so forth.
4. The tuner is able to pull in all kinds of stations. Very good.
5. The CD slot plays CD, CD-R, and CD-RW.
6. The deck is able to display all kinds of text information for CDs, iPhones, and iPods. Album name, artist name, song name, or station name.
7. It comes with a remote control and it works great with volume control and other tasks.
8. It was fairly easy to install. It took me about an hour to do it myself.
9. It has the ability to display beautiful multiple color illumination. This was one of the main reason I bought the deck. I like my deck to display bright colors during the day but dark colors at night. For example, I use WHITE for day time display and DARK BLUE and DARK GREEN for night time display. My daughter likes pink and my wife likes red. People can pick and choose their favorite colors. There are 30 pre-set colors and the user is allowed to assign an unique color for key and another unique color for LCD display. In other words, you can display two different colors at the same time. Not only that, the user is allowed to customize the color by specifying the RGB (Red-Green-Blue) values (from zero to 60).

I agree with all the other reviewers who have given this stereo a five-star rating. The Pioneer 6300ub is a very, very good car stereo. It replaced a $600 Kenwood Z-828 head unit I have owned for 8 years.

1. Like everyone else has said, the illumination color options are incredible.
2. Pandora integration is impressive. Full functionality. Thumbs up/down, next song, etc.
3. iPhone 3GS (iOS 4.3) compatibility.
4. Classic iPod video model compatibility.
5. Good, clean signal to my Hertz speakers.
6. Reasonable price.
7. Nice remote control.

1. Front-USB interface only. (see discussion below)
2. Fit and finish of faceplate is lightweight 'plasticy'
3. 4-way joystick replaces forward and backward buttons. Difficult to advance within a song without risking advancing to next track.
4. Smallish text display rarely shows full song or artist. Sony usually can get several more characters on their units.

When I purchased the Pioneer 6300ub, I knew it didn't have a rear USB, so this is not a surprise. It's a compromise I was willing to make in order to experience the Pandora connectivity. It's very difficult to find stereos these days that include a rear USB connector. The manufacturers have seemed to dumb-down their products from earlier offerings thinking everyone wants the convenience of connecting their mp3 player or phone to the front of the unit every time they enter the car. Well, I believe that convenience comes at the cost of having cables dangling all over the cabin and increases the chance of your mp3 player getting bumped around. Additionally, it also requires the owner to hide away the mp3 player and cables every time the car is parked.

I bought this receiver a couple of weeks ago. No need to comment on shipping and arrival Amazon does a an outstanding job with product fulfillment. I picked this out because I wanted a receiver that I could play my Itouch with. This was the main feature requirement that I was looking for. This product does this exceptionally well. I also have to say that the FM tuner performs much better than my old Delco unit. I'm able to get some stations that are 70+ miles away. I can only describe the sound as being very "clean" nice highs and deep bass. The power specs on this unit is 50 watts peak and 22 watts rms(this is the true power) They have a neat feature where you can make the display (LED) change colors to match whatever your color your car console has or what whatever color you want (pretty neat). The only downside with this unit is that you must read the manual to become familiar with the controls. I typically can intuitively work my way around most receivers but this unit (apparently designed by engineers not taking into account usability) is not user friendly. That being said I Love this unit and am very pleased with it.

At first blush, the Pioneer DEH-6300UB has all the right features and a reasonable price. I bought the Pioneer unit to upgrade a factory unit in a 2002 Toyota Celica, a car which features an orange-backlit instrument cluster. Since most aftermarket stereos like to blast the user with shades of blue and white, the adjustable color option sold this unit over several otherwise-equal competitors. I obtained a factory wiring harness to minimize the damage and tangle in the dash, and went to work. Before long I had a working MP3 head unit...or so I thought.

Unfortunately, it wasn't quite that simple. Granted, some things do work well -- the remote, for example, is not just a gimmick, it offers fast access to some sub-menus and settings that otherwise require tedious button pressing and scrolling on the head unit. The CD player is also very quick to pick up a track, and avoids skipping over all but the worst possible potholes. The detachable front face feels a bit cheap, but not unreasonably so for this price range, and has a reasonably clean and uncluttered layout. So what's not to like?

First, the backlighting is appropriate for daytime, but far too bright at night. The darkest available shades of orange and red still shine brighter than the instrument panel. The keypad and LCD can be separately changed to any of three dozen different hues, yet nobody in R&D though to add a high/low brightness control? Worse, the polarization on the LCD display is oriented such that an ordinary pair of polarized sunglasses almost completely blacks it out during the daytime, unless you rotate your head.
