The top drive in my Primera duplicator had gone bad so I thought I would give a shot at fixing it with these exact replacement drives. Got two of them and replaced both drives in the duplicator and it worked great! Pro tip: For the Primera system you need to shave the four little tabs that are on the disk tray off with a razor blade for it to work properly. Primera did the same thing on the original drives. Super simple!

Pioneer is one of those brands that you can buy with confidence. I've bought several pioneer DVD burners for the 5 or so PCs that I've built over the last 6 years, and I have never had one die on me. All the burners were used heavily, as I frequently burn Audio CDs, and DVD movies.

Read and write speeds are great - write speeds meet their advertised performance, and read speeds get close. I would argue that in terms of getting close to advertised speeds, this drive has gotten a lot closer than other brands that I've used in the past. (I never took the time to fully benchmark any drive, simply because they were always faster than I needed them to be)

This is a bulk drive, so make sure you have an extra SATA cable and open SATA port on your Motherboard prior to purchase

Label Flash - I've never used it. I have an inkjet that can print directly onto discs, so I've always used that.

Bottom line, if you don't need/want the ability to play or burn BluRay discs, this drive is for you - it will take any beating you throw at it.

Buy it, and it should be the last DVD burner that you need!

I had the same as another reviewer. Mine had one dead drive, and another with one foot in the grave. Primera had previously used this same drive. Drives came quickly and I just replaced them yesterday. Working perfectly!

I did have to tweak the chassis a little forward to ensure the trays open enough but it was a snap! If you have a Bravo Pro, don't be intimidated. All you need is a Phillips head, and a t-10 Torx driver. Pop the back panel off, then the top, minding the power connector. Then unscrew the two connections on the bottom as well as in front of the drive trays and remove the entire chassis.

For mine I had to use a SATA to Parallel adapter but I used the ones Primera had already connected. It took about an hour as opposed to shipping the beast off for 3 weeks and paying almost $300.

Hope this helps!
