This WORKS GREAT! I have the Samsung S3 and it works just fine. To those who say that this kit doesn't work with S3 or Note 2 you didn't do your research!! The AppRadio and this kit ALONE doesn't work with the S3 or Note 2. You MUST buy separately an MHL adapter that has an 11 pin connection. This is because Samsung went outside the norm and changed the micro USB port on the S3 and Note 2 to an 11 pin connection. To my knowledge Samsung is the only one that does this, so the kit only comes with a 5 pin micro USB connection. This was a great buy at well below retail and I just love it. And please make sure you buy the MHL adapter from Samsung because I made the mistake and bought one from amazon and it was totally different from the at Best Buy. The weight was different, the packaging was different (even though it said Samsung and was for Samsung S3 it didn't work. So I went to Best Buy and got the REAL MHL adapter). This kit plus the MHL adapter from Samsung, I can now use the appradio as intended.

Pioneers latest GPS systems already supply 5V power via an included USB port and, therefore, do not require the separate power supply unit you are forced to buy in their AH-AH200C kit.
I would suggest that you can purchase the same HDMI and USB cables for far less money from just about every electronic wire supplier on-line.

For nexus 4 users you will need an additional interface, the mhl will not work. The required interface usually is only available in Japan and its' expensive. One consideration I haven't tried with my nexus 4 is to buy the samsung or a wifi mhl adaptor. I do hear those work very well in place of the mhl

Great kit for connecting an Android device to an AppRadio compatible unit. Be sure to look at Pioneers website to make sure you need this kit - some devices only need a HDMI adapter and do not need the MHL to HDMI converter. This has USB power and can recharge my phone (fast charge enabled) even with 4G, Pandora streaming, and Waze (with GPS) pulled up on the screen.

Doesn't work out of the box with the Galaxy S4. I purchased the Samsung adapter from Amazon and still for white "snow" on the screen. Finally I purchased an adapter direct from Samsung ($9) and it worked fine. The App Radio in general is more hype than a sound product.

I spent more than the cost of the cable as of this review (appx $35) trying to piece together my own cable for a Samsung Galaxy Nexus. No matter what I did I always received "snow" on the screen as I drove. Others have noticed that it seems to be mostly Samsung phones affected by this issue. It involves poor MHL connectors and possibly RF interference when switching between cell towers. Anyways, I finally broke down and got this cable and have not had a single snow issue yet. I wish I did this sooner. The cables are quite heavy duty and this includes everything you need to connect your android phone and power it. I'm using it with my rooted Galaxy Nexus and ARliberator from the Google Play Store.

Note: Unless you have a modified kernel on your phone, then your phone will remain in USB charging mode and will likely discharge while using it. This is not a problem with the cable, but rather the phone thinking it's connected via a data port and not a charging port. Your phone will still function properly otherwise.

Second Note: This kit does not include the 11 pin connector required for certain Samsung phones, e.g. the Galaxy S III. I believe you can use any adapter to connect to this kit to work, but that does leave more room for something to go wrong with the cables.
