I'm not happy with this product. I bought it online, after seeing good reviews but I didn't have a good experience with it.

The sound itself is good: loud, clear, good bass... I'm not enough of an expert to compare it with other high-quality brands, but given the price of the headphone, the quality is good.

However, there are two main problems:
1/ Design: the headphones is very bulky. It's rather heavy, and does look too big for most people, so it's not very comfortable.
2/ The headphones began after only 1 or 2 months, to crack (the light gray part right above the ears especially). As I kept putting my headphones on, the crack became more and more visible, until it broke apart completely (only the wire held the "ear part" and the "above the head part"), on both ear sides. I took good care of my headphones, and it's just the wear and tear that broke it down, so the poor plastic quality is obviously the main issue.

I advise you not to purchase this product.

I am an audiophile on a budget. I have wear L/XL hat sizes, and my ears are "normal" sized. I do production and recording as a hobby, and sincerely enjoy EDM, Rock, pop music on occasion. I run them through a custom DAC/onkyo power amp.

Using that as a reference heres how I will review these, and compare them to the other "staple" headphone-> ATH-M50, as well as reference a few headphones under 300$

The Good ->
- I have had the pleasure to try out many headphones under 300$. I do mean MANY. In stores, in shops, in studios, friends, etc. BAR NONE, these were the best sounding to me. BEATS? Not even close to these!
- The design is very very understated and nice. Classy all around
- The metal bits are VERY well made
- THESE DO NOT DISTORT. You will experience physical pain before these puppies distort.
-The sound isolation is unbelievable. You can crank them up, and simply lay your fingers over the headphones, and you cant hear a thing. My wife HATES when I have these on because I can literally hear nothing!

The Subjective ->
- I love the style! I dont care for headphones that have 300 ways to mount them. A simple swivel and hinge is good enough for anyone.
- These are NOT light. Usually, for me, heavy is synonymous with quality usually. They stay firmly planted on your head, but if you have a smaller sized head, they MAY slip off if you dont have them adjusted properly.
- The detachable cable is much nicer than my M50's cable. I never have to worry about damaging the cable or yanking stuff out.
- Compared to the ATH M50, these are the "Better buy". They feel more sturdy, sound better (bass on the m50 isn't even in the same ball park as the 1500's!

These Pioneer headphones sound great for critical listening and they offer excellent isolation in noisy environments.

When buying headphones, I recommend sticking to companies that have a long tradition in manufacturing audio equipment and professional audio gear. Companies like Shure, Sennheiser, Pioneer, Koss, Audio-Technica, etc. Not "Beats by Dr. Dre". Why not Beats? Beats audio has a "rich" history going all the way back to 2008, when a has been rapper/producer named Dr. Dre hooked up with a sleazy record company producer Jimmy Iovine to produce overpriced junk headphones. Through slick marketing to our naive youth, they somehow became successful and have expanded their products to junky speakers and selling their name to be put on laptops. (I'm sure the tiny speakers in a laptop sound better than studio monitors with "Beats audio" inside!) Note that if you try to find technical specifications for Beats headphones, you know, things like frequency response, sensitivity, etc. - they are nowhere to be found. 'nuff said.

In short, leave the Beats to the kiddies with more money than sense and buy a solid product like these Pioneers.

Durability:
Horrible, plastic cracked on the inside of the headband causing the adjustable portion to come out of the track making it difficult to put back in to the groove in order to close them again.. this happened within 3 months. Then after 9 months the right channel went. Judging by the wear and tear of the exterior..it looks like i have been wearing them for years.. but again only 9 months.

Comfort:
Comfortable once on and for long track review sessions.. but clunky to take on and off while playing. The swivel is just annoying in my opinion and you are constantly trying to adjust them to fit straight. They are quite heavy

Sound quality
-Overall sound quality is good. Bass is fine for loud clubs, highs are rolled off. I initially thought this was a bad thing but my ears dont hurt as much because of it after a 5 hours session. Wouldnt use them for studio use of course as they are very coloured as a DJ headphone is supposed to be

Isolation:
Moderate.. Not as good as the standard Technics kind but more so than most over the ear types.

Again, useless to write the other headings of the review as they simply break waaaay too easy. I am anal i should mentioned of putting them back in their bag and not placying them in my bag under my computer or another heavy object.. I have NEVER dropped them and still they failed after 9 months.. I heard they have a 1 year warranty on them.. lets see if i can find my receipt!
