I have been dealing with Pioneer products since I was a child.
I was exposed to this brand's equipment in house parties straight to the audio I have in my car right now. I was quite shocked that many people rather go with the
mainstream rubbish, than research something that actually has quality.
Pioneer has been making speakers for themselves and many people for ages. So they know a lot about how speakers work. The sound quality is the best I heard from any ear buds.
The response range, 5Hz - 22,000Hz, regular speakers cannot achieve this. And a sensitivity rating of 110 db at 16ohms? What more can you want? Klipsch Image S4 In-Ear Headphones, at 18 Ohms, 10 - 19000 Hz, reviewed as best by C-know nothing-Net. Beats by Dr Dre? Don't waste your time on that crap. Anything over $60 for a pair of ear buds, is too much money. My music genre is very wide. From Classical music, Reggae, Rap, Pop, Hip Hop, Soca, Jazz, Rock and the list goes on. And these headphones have not failed me. There was so much bass I hard to turn the music down. The treble and vocal are so clear, even with bass pounding in the background. I was afraid that I got deaf! It comes with different sizes in ear cushions, made from soft durable rubber. The construction of product is very nice. It does not feel cheap and nasty. The only bad thing that is a pain in the butt, is the changing of the ear cushion sizes. But once it goes back on, it does not come off with out some force. They are comfortable, and I have no issues with them so far(3+ months). They are worth every penny I paid for them, and I will
not hesitate to buy a next pair. Always remember, quality > quantity.

First off, let me say that Pioneer is great, and has been making quality products for YEARS! These headphones were far beyond what I thought they would be like. I was honestly somewhat scared that they would only be slightly better than my Apple headphones and I was about to waste my money. Then I got them. They literally have the PERFECT balance between bass and vocals. The bass sounds exactly how its suppose to, and I can't believe how much of some of my songs I was missing using my iPod headphones. These headphones also have GREAT clarity so that you hear every note of a song. The only thing that I just couldn't give 5 stars was the quality of the materials, and when I say materials I don't mean any of the rubber (It's soft and durable high grade rubber), I mean the shiny exterior of the earbud, mainly because its plastic. But for the price this is a far better deal then any of Dr. Dre's Beats, or Bose and with my comparisons the Pioneer sounds EXACTLY the same if not better as both of these. The only thing I don't like about these headphones is that most people will have to change their earbud size and it is hard to install another. But once you get the earbud on, it won't come off unless you purposely try. Other then that Pioneer has really outdone themselves with a great deal for such great earbuds, and I really can't believe that there are no reviews for these headphones!

UPDATE: 5/15/12: These headphones were just fine until two weeks ago. The right earbud won't produce any noise even though I have never tightly rolled the cord or fidgeted with it. I've never abused these headphone which is why it bothers me that it went out. I contacted Pioneer tech support and they said the warranty was 90 days and they can't do anything about it. That's fine with me, I'm disappointed in the brandbut I will still use them for their other products.

I need high quality sound when listening to music, but over-ear headphones are extremely uncomfortable for me. The pressure on my ears and weight on my head/neck is unbearable and gives me headaches. That said, I am a veritable latecomer to in-ear style buds. I have always thrown away those cheap buds that come with MP3 players out of the box. The disk-shape of the speakers never fit in my small ears and would just fall right out. Before the in-ear style became readily available, I turned to the gel-coated earbuds with the hook over the ear to keep them positioned more or less over my ear. This is what I was using up until I purchased these Pioneer earbuds. The problem with the hook kind that slightly balances against the ear opening is the incredible amount of sound leakage. I was desperate for something more noise-cancelling and less tinny. I saw these Pioneers on another website on sale with a mail-in rebate. The reviews were great for an item sub-$20. Although I was not thrilled about the shiny plastic, it was worth a try. Luckily, and I am not typically one to praise Amazon, I checked here before ordering elsewhere. With free shipping, Amazon was cheaper at around $17 at time of purchase.

When they arrived, I experienced a small learning curve since I had never worn this type of earbud before. As other reviewers have mentioned, getting the rubber tips on is fiddly. One went right on, then the other took multiple tries and I kept thinking I was going to tear it with my nail. They are actually quite strong and did not get damaged at all as I fumbled to get them on. The trouble is worth it, because I finally have headphones that fit in my ears comfortably. Their range of tip sizes is great. I expected to need the smallest ones, but the second size was fine.
