these speakers really kick. they have outstanding bass response and are perfect for limited spaces as in my extended cab s10.

I don't think you can beat the sound of these for the price. I use a Pioneer receiver and for the other speakers I use the 6.5's that are of the same model family. These just completely drown out the 6.5's. The bass is clear and precise even a pretty high volume, rock and metal sound great. Drum beats are punchy and precise, I can feel them in my chest (note: these are in the doors), but machine-gun drum blasts get a little muddy. The Mids and highs are also very clear at the highest volumes.

The bass does start clipping just shy of my volume threshold, so I can never turn them exactly as high as I'd like, but they get real close. I just write it off as forcibly saving my hearing, ha.

I've had them for a while (1.5 years) and they work great. Pretty good range, I don't think it's necessary to have a 5-way speaker in 6x9's. Might get just as much range in a 3-way. But I can't complain. low profile enough to fit with adapters. I would suggest use with a good amplifier for best results.
