Customer Reviews

They have crisp highs and good bass response.

These have great sound and very good bass - you won't think you have a subwoofer but you may decide you don't need one because of the bass response.
E. Paskey
All in all they are good speakers at a great value.

I blew out one of the factory speakers on my car so I replaced the back speakers with these, and I was very impressed. The speakers are very good for the price, with clear and crisp sound, and plenty loud. Overall I'm very satisfied. The speakers even came with covers in case your car didn't have them!

These play a lot lower than I thought they would... about 40hz. They can be used instead of a subwoofer if you amplify them correctly as they have decent excursion. However, I have crossed them over at 80hz so they will last since I am running subwoofers. The tweeters are very bright so you can set your EQ flat and still hear very good treble.

i have had this product for about 90 days and after minimal use and an amp that only gives it 75 rms it damages a tweeter.

simply pitiful, the only reason i gave this product 3 stars was that the other speaker is perfectly fine and works amazingly well. i am just disappointed in how little stress this speaker has had, and still its tweeter got damaged.

the only way i can get around the annoying scratchy sound from the speaker is by turning the volume up higher so that the bass attached to this speaker can drown out that sound.

overall good for the money but i suggest running these speakers through stress test before you fully install them, i know i probably am unlucky with my speaker, since the other one works fine but man am i disappointed.

WHEN I FRIST GOT THESE SPEAKERS THE SOUND WAS CLEAR AND CAN PICK UP ALOT OF INSTRUMENTS WITH OUT DISTORTION.
AFTER INSTALLING MY KICKER KX850.4 AMP THE HIGH AND LOWER END SOUNDS WOUNDERFUL. THESE ARE VERY GOOD SPEAKER AND MY 2 CENTS IS YOU SHOULD GET THEM.

I read over all of the many positive reviews for the previous models and decided to buy these, which didn't have as many reviews yet (bought these in summer 2011) to replace stock, OEM rear speakers. Of course, I noticed a difference, but it was also a big difference. I first replaced my front speakers (with Polk Audio speakers), which was an upgrade, but I wasn't impressed to the point of wanting to show them off. However, once I installed these Pioneer speakers, I am happy to show any casual upgrader how they sound. These speakers impressed me. I am not using an amp, just a Pioneer AVIC X930BT. In fact, I'm even using the stock OEM wires going to them. These speakers are great. Especially at the $90 or so I bought a pair for, I put these at the front of the best purchases I've ever made list. No regrets whatsoever. I'm a little older and don't like to sound like that kid down the street who thinks vibrating his whole car with a subwoofer is epic, BUT these speakers will vibrate my car if I crank up on a song that is bass heavy. Not like a subwoofer, but they'll pump, which my old OEMs (of course) never came close to doing. Did I also mention that these are 5 way speakers, too? Great, great, great upgrade. These fully warrant all of the previous positive reviews I had read. One year later, and I'm still enjoying these speakers and their purchase.

I love these speakers. I installed these in my 2006 Monte Carlo with a AVIC-X930BT. The movie sound in the unit sounds great with these speakers which also include some pioneer 6 1/2 inch.

These have awesome sound for the range. As I stated in my other review of the A-series 6.5" 5 way's, they live up the "open and smooth" slogan. They give a sound almost as though they are a component set(almost), and they don't have a the crazy high pitch "sssss's). I run these with HPF set to filter out anything below 100hz, but I sampled these with full open bass frequency and they actually did quite well. They rattled my panels in my 4runner no problem. They put out plenty in-cabin listening bass if that's all you need for bass. Mind you, I did have them running off an alpine V12 amp with I believe 50W RMS. I recommend them for the budget conscious, but still want great sound.

the sound coming out of these are concert quality. these things can scream no problem. there getting around 250 watts rms each and seam to be loving the power. make sure not to use a cheap amp on them cause they have amazing quality and dont want to ruin it with bad signal from a cheap amp.
