These speakers are very nice, good mid and high range, obviously not much on the low end. The tweeter sticks a little higher than my stock speakers, which required me to clearance the grille a little, but no big deal. These are great if you have a tight space and need new speakers, great sound and not just "for the price."

Pretty Decent for Size and Price,

I needed to replace the front speakers in my 1985 Toyota Supra. I had previously replaced the OEM ones many years ago with what were a really great set of Polk speakers, but the Polks had given up the ghost (cones literally fell apart from age).
I tested a new set of Clarion SRG921C speakers bought at Best Buy along with these Pioneers. The Clarions had a little more and "crisper" high end (but they also seemed more "tinny" or "brassy"), and had good mid-range, but their bass was absolutely non-existent. These Pioneers had almost as much high end without sounding "tinny", had just as much mid-range, and had FAR more bass than the Clarions, although still not as much or as clear bass as the old Polks did. I wish things were still like the old days where you could go into the audio electronics department of a store and switch the same stereo system to different speakers to quickly check/test them out side by side, but apparently those days are gone. I would like to have been able to try out some of the higher-dollar 3 1/2 -inch speakers to see if they would put out more and better bass than these Pioneers so as to be worth the extra expense. However, in the absence of that ability, at about $40 a pair these Pioneers put out pretty good sound for a very reasonable price. Hopefully this review will be helpful to others.

These are great little speakers with big performance. They had the widest frequency range in the 3.5" size along with 60 watt power rating. They sound great.

I purchased these 3-1/2 inch 2-ways for extra "front fill" to mount in the dash of my '04 GMC Envoy. They don't require a lot of power to run (as they really efficient). I'm running them off my pioneer deck with the high-pass filter engaged. I have owned Pioneer 3-1/2 inch 2-ways before on older GM cars and the sound quality has always been good. Pioneer has made some improvements over the years (like the PEI tweeters and carbon-fiber IMPP cone). They seem to sound a lot better if you use foam baffles when mounting them. 3-1/2 inch is not real common today, but if you restoring an older GM, Ford, or VW these fit many of those vehicles (especially 1970's - 1980's dashboards). I highly recommend these speakers.
I've replaced all my factory door speakers with separate Pioneer component speakers. I had empty 3-1/2 inch dash locations, so I purchased these for a little extra "presence" up front and they deliver well. Try Pioneer subs and amps as well, you won't be disappointed.

these little 3.5" are great. compared to the stock setup they're atleast 10 times better. crisp sound, great mid-range, full and they can handle a decent amount of juice and not distort. i also used the crutchfield "bass-blockers" just so i don't possibly damage them, but i really don't think i needed them. For a factory location replacement they are just about perfect, the little extra height makes them a bit tricky to put in especially when it's a 20+ year old dashboard, and you do have to have them oriented correctly with the hook-ups facing forward if you're putting them in a 80's GM G-body. Very good product for the cost!

Prius Gen 3 notes: Only minor cutting to the inner dash panel on a prius. Remove existing connector plate and hot glue to back of speaker. Solder in a 22uf cap parallel to the existing 5.8uf and solder connections. Wow, what a marked improvement. 88db efficiency is a bit louder than stock, so sound stage moves forward.
