This is just a great all round speaker. Well made. Very very good highs and nice deep bass. Love them!In order to maximize the efficiency of speakers you must seal the speaker properly. I bought some air conditioning soft foam filter mats and cut it to fit around the speaker edge (I used removable window sealer which feels a lot like playdoh to seal my front ones). I used foam around the edge of the spacers I bought where it meets the door. Doing this completely seals the back of the speaker from the front and increases the bass response 30 times at least, and the increases the efficiency and life of the speaker. Especially on door speakers!! Hope this helps someone!

I had to replace broken factory speakers (paper or cardboard material) on my Integra '97, so I went to the shop to listen different speakers for under $100/pair. Polk DB651s were definitely #1, but surprise was this Pioneer that sounded better than Infinity or Sony (again, these are under $100/pair speakers). Polk had a clear, balanced sound from bass to mid to high. These speakers were not as clear but were well balanced. So, I decided to put Polk speakers in front and Pioneer in the rear. Surprisingly, I could not hear much difference while driving, probably due to all the noise you get on the road. TS-G1643R speakers sound 1000x better than cheap factory speakers - I don't know if you can even buy something bad like what they put in the factory. Pros: - Installation was really simple. You need to get a cable adapter "harness" for your car, attach to the speaker on one side and to the car wire adapter on the other side, then put back original screws and that is it. - Sound is great - you can hear nice bass and clear sound either for music or talk radio. - It is so inexpensive that it is hard to imagine how they can sell it and make money. Cons: - Once you put speakers, the sound may not be what you expect - typically you will not get enough bass. After changing speakers, you need to use your receiver and set equilizer for the sound you like. In my case, on JVC receiver I restored default settings (everything "0") then added +4db for "bass" and -2db for "high". So, this is really not a "cons" but a note that you need to do something "extra". If you want to get decent inexpensive speakers to replace factory junk, there is no competition in this price range to these speakers.

I've listened to many speakers in the store. Infinity Kappa, Polk, you name it. None sounded as good as these $45 Pioneers. I think the reason is that all other speakers "expect" you to install a subwoofer too. This pair, however, has a frequency response as low as 30Hz. I replaced the milk-jar-made Subaru factory ones with these and they sound better than I expected using the factory head unit. For $47 or so these speakers are a steal!

I was looking for replacement for my factory door speakers in my Frontier. First I bought Kenwoods KFC1662S; returned them; not as good as the factory ones. For the same price I tried these Pioneers, and they are awesome! I had considered adding a subwoofer, but with these it's not necessary, the bass kicks, I had to turn the bass down a couple of notches, and the sound quality is great. I highly recommend these for the price.

I replaced the worn-out factory front-door speakers with these, in my 1994 Honda Civic EX Coupe. I bought them from another vendor, but I shop on Amazon a lot. The factory head unit is driving them. These speakers sound just great and loud, with a full range of sound. Want really deep bass? Try a subwoofer. It was not necessary to cut the existing speaker enclosures to accommodate the depth of these speakers. They fit with no cutting, with about 1/8" of headroom. A great product for this price.

I purchased these for the front of my 1999 Honda Civic. Admittedly they sound fine but their real benefit is that they are shallow enough that they don't require altering the car doors. Pop the grills, pull the old ones, bend the metal tabs on these speakers, hook up the harnesses, and pop these in. You're done in under 20 minutes.Like others have commented, they do lack bass and fullness of sound without some serious fiddling of your stereo, but in this price range and up to almost double the price of these, there's few that sound better. Further, there are none that can be installed this easily in the front of a pre-2001 Civic. Note: If your car can hold 6*9s and you're just replacing your 6.5s for the heck of it, you would be much better served buying new 6*9s. 6*9s, i assume because they're larger, just produce much better sound and the 3-way 6*9 Pioneers I use completely overshadow these.

Tinny sound compared to Honda Odyssey factory front speakers. Supposedly these are "30 Hz" speakers however what they don't say is that the response of the speaker is down 20 dB at 30Hz, the real 3 dB cutoff frequency is 90 Hz according to the speaker response graph printed on the box. If you are looking for bass, forget about it with this speaker. Good mid and high frequency sound, though.

After shopping around for speakers that were in my budget and would match well with my head unit (Sony cdx-gt550UI Xplod), I decided to grab a pair of these Pioneers for the front doors of my Mitsubishi Montero Sport. The Montero has 6.75" speaker holes so these guys are a little small, but you can get a bracket to adapt them. For a first time speaker installation, these were a breeze and they sound amazing compared to the stock speakers. If I were going to invest in a subwoofer instead of going 3-way for the rears, I would have put them in all four doors. Like most of the reviewers have said, the range is pretty good for a two-way; I was impressed with the pop and the rap music (highs and lows!). The sound is full and I thoroughly enjoy them!

I bought a 2008 Honda Civic Coupe and quickly realized it had ZERO bass. I then bought a 12" Pioneer Sub and a 1200 watt pioneer mono amp. I got bass, but now couldn't hear anything else. I decided to replace my front door speakers with these and see if it helped. Sure enough, although it took some adaptation to install these into my car's doors because of the stupid factory speakers that Honda uses, they made a HUGE difference once I got them in. I am going to install another set in the rear to replace the rear factory speakers. I don't know about the amount of bass that these produce because my sub gives me so much I can't really tell. I can however hear a full range of sound that was muffled before. You can't beat the price!

I bought these for my rear door speakers and I bought Kickers that cost twice the price for the front doors, these Pioneers sound 100 times better than the kickers, I'd definitely recommend these!
