This review is from: Pioneer Woman (VHS Tape)
1971
A new home in Nebraska is the dream of John and Maggie Sergeant, although hardships beyond their knowing lie ahead in this stirring portrayal of a pioneer woman and her family. Even though she is pregnant with a third child, Maggie Sergeant (Joanna Pettet) dutifully obliges the wishes of her husband, John (William Shatner), to move the family from their home in Indiana to the untamed frontier of Nebraska. As if their journey wasn't difficult enough, the Sergeants arrive in Nebraska to find that their land has been claimed by another family. In the ensuring battle, Maggie loses her baby. Determined to press on, the Sergeants head further west, to the Wyoming Territory where they, like many others, must carve a new home from the wilderness. |
